\o/ Good news for the game :D

I can understand that some people will be holding back to see what improvements are made. Problems is; content and additional software is expensive. Holding back on subscriptions will also hold back new content.

Better to sub for a few months (well we have had it free for a year!) and see how our invisible friends improve the game imho.

For a while I've been hoping (and asking) that, when going "pay mode", some new "release" should take place, backed up by an upgrade that injects fresh air to the game. I was referreing more to a "Kitin nest" rather than "bug fixes". Lately, however, I have doubts that we will see some significant update (I wish I am wrong), based on the overrated importance given to minor changes, the hint of a lifetime subscription mode as a means to gather cash to invest and so on.

Your statement is logical and reasonable. However, from a player point of view, new content on "release" and other additions are "the real indicator" (way more than words) of what's going on behind the scenes. In other words, they reflect what devs have been doing during these months, whether they have dedicated resources or not, and whether there has been an notable investment other than just buying the assets and keeping the game "heartbeeting". An update would allow players to "buy the dream again".
Shortly put, I am more willing to "invest" in the game if the game operators also invest in it, shown e.g. by a patch that has been developed out of investment funds.

It is very reasonable. Ask players to fund developments. The only issue is that we have heard this arguments before and we have grown somewhat impatient. Furthermore, this would mean that, if started from scratch, any significant improvement would span several months, based on the work produced by the latest days of Nevrax or GF.

I also think that "the entertainment value" provided by 7-8 months of "free play" varies a lot, and it is not the same for a 5-year old player than a new one. It is not the money (or rather, it is not only the money). It is mainly the perspective that, for a while, there will be no upgrades since they need to be developed with the funds raised by standard subscriptions. It basically reduces to wait while what exists is good for you or not. Taken to the limit, it is as if I was asked to start playing a game from the first day it is conceived, and that the game will be developed with money from subscribers and early adopters.

Ani

All new accounts that are created after Monday 4th May will automatically have 3 free weeks of access to the full game, with no level cap or geographic restriction. This is a change to the previous Silan-only unlimited trial, so you will have to make sure to take full advantage of the three weeks before they're up !
What exactly are the new free trial restrictions?

Apologies if I state the obvious, but I would guess that they shifted the "unlimited" free trial from a "time" point of view to a "level" and "region" point of view: you are free to leave Silan and to reach lvl 250, but that after the three weeks period, you can no longer play unless you upgrade to a full account.

The rationale seems to be that there were trial accounts "testing" the game for many months, somehow defeating the purpose of the "trial". It needs not to be a bad thing, I am well aware of players on trial mode that end up playing a role similar to a CSR.

I find it a better rationale that being restricted to just Silan didn't give new players a very accurate impression of what the rest of the game was like, which is the idea of a free trial.

But yes, both has it's advantages and disadvantages.
