Enchanted weapons, clothes, jewelry

Post by texana »

I learned how to enchant weapons and can do that, but what good does it do. My level 20 magic shaft is still to weak to help with Acid 3 or Cold Over Time. It seems to take just as long to kill a kippee wih my enchanted mace as when it was not enchanted.
And how do you enchant armor and jewelry and does that do any good. In fact does the jewelry I craft make any difference?

Once you enchant your weapon, you need to charge it up with sap using sap crystals. You can get the Create Sap Crystal spell at the magic trainer or get someone to create you some.

Once you have your weapon charged, you use the "Use Item Enchantment" skill to invoke the spell.

You might already be aware of this, however, your statement, "It seems to take just as long to kill a kippee wih my enchanted mace as when it was not enchanted," made me think you were expecting the enchantment to happen automatically when you swing the weapon.

I did charge it with sap crystals. up to the limit it allowed. do I need to add a specific spell to it and how do I do that mechanically. sat there creating crystals and loading the weapons until they were full. I am still on newbie island and the weapons would say 31 or so in upper left corner and be green while lower right corner was 20. still did not seem to make any difference in their effect on critters.

Yes, you need to add a spell to the weapon.

You can "crystalize" a spell that you have by right-clicking on the spell in your hands bar and choosing "Crystalize Spell". Then you can enchant your weapon with that spell by right clicking on the crystalized spell and choosing "Enchant Right Hand".

Then when you activate the weapon using the "Use Item Enchantment" action, you'll cast that spell.

Thanks Aylwyne. Got it and it works. Now, how do I enchant jewelry and clothes?

Only weapons can be currently enchanted.

You need to learn HP/Stam/Sap boost under the crafting skill (and then add them to your crafting skill). Jewels and crafted items cannot be enchanted with spells, only with stat boosts.
