Still being an arrogant noob I see, Sun. You really should work on that, makes people care less for your opinion just because you're being an ass. If I didn't know you and read that, I would immediately write off everything you said as worthless lol. (I.E. Bull ****)
Remember, Ryzom forums or not. This is the internet, and when you start bragging about having your own business and doing things like join the armed forces for "Fun" you just sound like a little kid trying to sound grown, Or just an ass
Its good to be confident. its bad to be arrogant.(fine line between the two) I know I'm not around you to keep you strait anymore, but that doesn't mean you can't still listen. lol
Take care man.
*waves at everyone*
This isnt about being an ass or being arrogant, this is about a showing people that Ryzom isnt a "waste" to invest in, because its not.
Ryzom could make a fortune, and yes Kalindra, it can be done without screwing the playerbase as well.
Morgaine, I know multiple ways that you could take SoR into a profitable business.
Just to show a few pointers:
1, There is a game convention in sweden every year that has numerous thousands of gamers, and I know that there are tons and tons of conventions in the US as well. Make a deal with the hosts that you can hand out trials at the entrance (Yes, they allow that), and make an announcement that at a specific time you will have a short intro + quiz, where 2-5 people can win a lifetime subscription.
Boom, thats easily 2 000 trials handed out, which would probably convert into 100-200 subscriptions.
2, Contact the guild leaders of the largest 10 gaming communities in the world, offer them free trials for all members, and 1 lifetime sub per community, through a ingame contest say, after 3 weeks.
3, Contact TentonHammer, arrange ingame events/competitions and let them have exclusive rights in covering it on TenTonhammer.com, and in their weekly newsletter. (500 000-1 000 000 readers every week.)
Then let TenTonHammer "Sponsor" at least one event with a lifetime subscription, and you would probably be sitting at another 10/15000 trials, per cover. Thats around 1000/1500 subs with the current conversation rates.
Right here, you would probably get 2000-2500 subs, which would added to the current numbers sit subs around 3000, which should be just enough to "hit zero".
Now, before you call me SunCe The "leet" kiddie of Atys, get your head out of your ass and realise that that performance was a role, a role that i play in the gaming world.
In real life, I have to think more strategicly, and I assosiate myself only with those that are creative, polite, and bring positive things into my life.
I therefor enjoy playing another role in games. That should be understandable to you.
You can either keep trying to annoy me, or you can try to contribute to a constructive discussion and realise that what I really want is to help both the games community and the new owners.
EDIT: Yes, I agree with you in the fact that it depends on how much you want to babysit your investment, which is why neither myself or my friends has had any interest in doing so. Because of the amount of time and work that would need to be put into it. But that doesnt make any less possible, it just makes it more work.
Anyone that says that no one will put in that work is wrong, there is only one way to real success and alot of money. And thats hard work.
