What does patch 1 mean to those few that dont wanna harvest and craft

i see alot about the crafting side of the game, i'm beginning to wonder if thats all this game is about, and what will all you crafters do when the fighters find nothing at endgame to play for?

Nothing at the endgame?

Umm .. there is nothing at the start or middle aside from basic kill missions.

I started harvesting because fighting in this game got boring shortly after leaving the noobie island. It ends up as "click attack" "go get a drink" "come back to a dead mob" .. repeat. There is very little danger in it. Unless you group to take on those big bad mobs, that cause your items to degrade and really dont take much tactics either.

I am interested in seeing what the new tactic will be since blind is being "fixed". It might just mean you actually need a healer in the group now, but that remains to be seen. Perhaps now it will be someone using blind and someone using stun ?

I'm a Healing Mage and I can't get a magic amp because of this _ _ _ _.
Our fighters currently fight naked because of the scarcity of goods and high degrade rates. But I guess really armor doesn't matter anyhow now because they're doubling the mob damage. So no reason I guess.

oh and Jesdyr, the Praetorian don't go anywhere without a healer. If your groups do, then you're clearly not challenging yourselves.

You would think 2x damge would make armour actually needed since it is all % based. True you will still take more damage but isnt it better to take 150% and not the full 200% ?

It really matters how large the group is .. rightnow you can do a group of 3-4 getting max XP and not really need a healer if you are using blind. Actually the only thing the healer does in this case is prevent downtime. That is just my limited experience on fighting. I find it to be boring in this game and am not sure what can be done to actually make it more interesting than click and wait.

well, as i was reading all the threads i saw people saying they gonna quit if patch 1 goes threw as it is( harvesters, crafters mostly). Fighters, hmm every game i've played i've always been a fighter, or mage crafting isn't my thing, but honestly this is the first game i've seen where the only use for a fighter is to guard the harvesters, and crafters to make the armor and weapons for the fighter to use to guard the harvesters. To be honest the 1 thing i liked about patch 1 was the fact that was was gonna be able to respec my toon since i totally messed him up. Now after reading i'm wondering , even if i fixed my toon, am i gonna be happy playing this game, i see nothing in it fun if i dont wanna harvest and craft, And now the harvesters and crafters are saying thats not even gonna be fun anymore

Basically what this means for those that do not craft or forage is that you will have to learn how to fight mobs that hit twice as hard as before with your bare hands and naked.

Before patch one we had trouble to keep up our crafting levels with our melee fighters levels. Now it is simply even more impossible.

Noone even bothered with armor since it is impossible to skill up with.
Weapons we somehow managed to at least keep track ( q160 for our lvl 160-170 fighters, q110 mage amps for our lvl 150 mages ).

Great job Nevrax, way to go! Making up for the lack of game content at higher levels by making it impossible for people to get to those levels. Now that's a great fix.

PS: The sentiment on the french and german boards is pretty much the same. Problem is, noone seems to care about the players ...

As is stated on the main pages, the Raids are coming!

Warriors and mages will be needed fully then, just to defend the cities, bacuase it would really be terrible to have your capital taken over by rampaging kitins, especially since refugees fresh from the island would be instantly decimated, repeatedly.

Not to mention that your guild will be able to take over and defend outposts as well.

Should be lots of fun for everyone.

Of course, another theory, is that these changes were planned form the beginning, and they wanted a few dedicated (i.e :p owergamers) to advance quickly to the point where they will be able to defend against these raids, or at least the BIG leader of the raids, while the majority of the rest of us deal with the hordes of smaller ones. I like that theory. It sounds nice anyway.

A side effect is that mostly, for a while at least, the powergamers will get all the glory. But then, that's why they are powergamers. Hopefully, there will be some other events (such as the recent storytelling) where those of us with skills not directly related to leveling can be rewarded, and there is promise in that as well.

The main pages mention nothing about raids....

I'm rather sure those won't be coming till patch 2. It is the guild mission givers that are missing and they're probably waiting for the quest system.

This is a no loot harvesting game and its getting only worse with patch one,
I am really thinking the development team here dosent want us to fght hunt and explore more then a day a week with these changes.
