Yay KP is back \o/
Re: Yay KP is back \o/
Yeah, it's nice to see them back but they're a bit nuts how it is for the moment. The aggro range is too much, and they the paths could us adjusting away from boss spawns I think. We just don't have the population to deal with bosses and KP at the same time.

Wasn't their range 70something before? That would be good.blaah wrote:patrols were avoidable when their aggro range was normal, but current ~100m (+- few to lag) they are not.

Re: Yay KP is back \o/
actually i dont know probably close to 50m (and with lag that makes it 70m hehe)katriell wrote:Wasn't their range 70something before? That would be good.
it was possible to go from matis side to kara tp in Abyss without getting ganked by patrol and still staying in the middle'ish of zone. good luck trying it now because abyss only is 200m wide (give or take few hundred meters hehe) and there is at least two (probably three) patrols in matis side.
Re: Yay KP is back \o/
this is fantastic news!
Of course now my chances of ever mastering PR are now far lower than they have been.
I do think that 100m range sounds a bit insane however. especially if they dn't need LoS.

Ohhh new way to get DP in PR
WAIT FOR ME....
Some area did not have KP before sherka; hopefully still the same ]
Can be a pain while digging but is real fun when trekking in big groups when all players run in all directions ..... MUHAHAHA
Edit: that is lot of things that were not in patch notes tho: KP and honor points.. Or is it that the code is still alive and having a mind on its own?

actually I was thinking that too In the interest of staying positive I'm not going to go on about it, but really patch notes should include all significant changes, ideally every change.
Re: Yay KP is back \o/
At least this time patrols fit with new lore. Originally, they just came in with a patch and the devs said suck it up (that was the first major exodus of players away from the game in 2004). At least this time WE caused the problem by attacking Virhe and then Klaarch.
Relevant bit of lore:
With 100+m aggro ranges, the Prime Roots will once again be closed to anything smaller than a fair sized army of homins. ((Quite a pity actually as the Prime Roots are the most spectacular areas of the game and actually hold a number of clues as to the true origin of Atys and hominkind.)) If you want to know what the true origin of Atys and hominkind is, know that bloomtree has an extract from the Ryzom Bible.
Relevant bit of lore:
Can't very well have had a sanctuary in the Prime Roots if it was always being patrolled by Kitin.Ryzom Lore wrote: With the destruction of the teleportation pods during the Kitin Wars, the ways to the sanctuary of the Prime Roots of the faraway lands was closed. Many homins were forced to live precarious nomadic lives until a route was established in 2485 from the ancient to the newfound lands, opening the way for the Exodus. Refugees in their droves were at last able to rejoin the newly flourishing civilizations that had resurfaced from their Prime Roots sanctuary in the new lands of promise.

And they hinted at the return of the patrols/invasion in the patch notes (when you opened the client i think). I rather have the hints then the dry sentence: "oh yeah, and KPs are back"
Re: Yay KP is back \o/
Why do people love the KPs? They were in when I started playing, I even charged into one to see what happened lol.
Yeah they can be fun... But wasn't PR bad enough already? (in most places)
tho I have a question, Are they in ToT? Because if they are, Tryker lands are now off the lists of places I'm trekking anyone too/from.
plus, this is a bit unfair to new PR diggers, that wont have it as easy as everyone else has for the past 3-4 years (not that it really effects me, as it would take me another 4 years to master PR if I started now probably, either way lol)

My first PR digging foray was in KP-enabled Abyss of Ichor. One of my best experiences in gaming. Now I want to do more PR digging.raven41 wrote:plus, this is a bit unfair to new PR diggers, that wont have it as easy as everyone else has for the past 3-4 years
