Pushing for answers, speculating and making a fuss over it wont help anyone at all. Last but not least, to not say anything at all is much better and more honest than telling pleasant lies.
Any other company would have thrown a bunch of BS to appease the masses by now, and i respect the present owners for not doing that despite the pressure they been exposed to.

The fact the servers are up on their expense and they still do updates and improvements should be proof enough of the fact they care and are alive, and its a better proof than words could ever be.
I agree with you Kay22626. I think it is great that a good sign is servers are up and running, we have had a few things go, so it proves they are out there.
I respect they aren't telling us a bunch of crap just to shut everyone up. They could tell us anything. Yes it is hard to wait. But I just enjoy Ryzom so much I am happy. Plus I get to play free. that is a great thing in my opinion. What is the saying? "No news is good news". Or did I just invent that.
The servers have been stable. There is a great CSR team in game. Tickets are answered in a timely manner. It is free. Granted a few more events would be a nice touch. But players can make events for themselves so go at it people. Bring a little life into the game by you doing something.

"No news is good news" nothing is less true in this case...

When the server restarted and for some time after the servers were crowded, you could walk through RoS without tripping over some newbie on some mission or other. The SoR forum section on MMORPG.com was buzzing and there was a general sense of excitement.

Had they been able to make use of the momentum that existed back then I'm sure a lot of the oldies that returned would still be around today; I know I probably wouldn't have gone on an extended break if there had been more clarity back then...

I don't need that awsome patch that will finally gives me those jetski I've been waiting for all this time and for now I can do without Gnoof mounts and mounted combat for now... (I could do with some reworking of the ranged skill though :p )

I never expected any miracles this soon after the relaunch but it baffles me how they can keep the servers up and running for free for all this time without risking an other financial disaster in the near future. If the current owners have such deep pockets they can afford all these delays and still hope to make SoR a (moderate) success then good for them (and us I guess) However how do we know the lights won't go out for a second time?

I assume here that whoever ressurected the rootball from the dead intends to make money from it which means they need people playing and somehow paying for the game. They won't have that if they watch their loyal community walk away and do nothing...

All we're asking for right now is for them to tell us there is a plan and that we will see the results of that sometime in the near future. More would be appreciated of course but for now we'll settle for a sign that the powers that be are on the job of getting the saga back on track...

Might be time to shake things up again..ie an event or "something".

Concerned Atys citizen,

Well, since SWG has been mentionned and I'm one of the oldest SWG refugees here I could say that that's less the fault of Ryzom but the consequence of 4 factors that happened at SOE:
- they appologized
- they reintroduced as much as it was possible of the old content (professions, craft etc)
- they changed (at least the management of) the dev team
- most recent developments focused on community life (houses, decos, a whole new entertainer system)

I love Ryzom dearly, it's a jewel, hope it comes back to life and takes the place it deserves on the market.

Hugs all :)

I too am an SWG vet..left before Jump to Lightspeed, left because of the botting and the ruination of the entertainer professions which SOE caused and did nothing about. Also didn't think that every Tom ..Dicke and Harry should be a jedi, as that wasn't part of the lore, they were supposed to be rare.....anyway.......

It IS amazing that finally after all this time SOE has woken up to the fact that they were the causes of two massive exoduses from that game ..that I know of.

Its nice to know they are actually doing something positive ie: actually took note of what their playerbase wanted...that is a BIG change, prior to that ..all information from the players was largely ignored.

At any rate back on topic here

I too think that Ryzom is something special with some innovative features that I haven't seen yet appear in other games, and as I have stated before I have been online since about the fall of 1995. Played most games out there..matter of fact so many that I forget sometimes to mention them, its a long list.

But..after all this time...Ryzom IS the game I want to play.

Period :)

Ex-SWG .... (meh, plus most other MMO's), I cant understand leaving Ryzoms world for SWG, man that game is FUGLY! :D

Sure they apologised, revenue was down a tad :) , how long did it take for the apology? I'm guessing three or four years. >.<

Hey, we're getting a patch, and I think that the word "content" or something similar was mentioned somewhere in between that announcement's lines.

Yup losing customers is not a good thing, also made for bad publicity from all those disgruntled players that lost their cherished professions........

As for your guess on how long it took..well I think you're pretty close. :)

I don't care what they've done to bring it back, too late now for me.....

I'm in Ryzom and I'm here to stay!! hehe
