I´m really getting excited about upcoming Patch One. This wednesday the game will be quite different from what we know now.
For some reason a few people see this as a bad thing, or even worse, a reason to leave Ryzom...
I just want to say that I´m looking forward to it! I can´t wait for it to happen. The game will change and everything gets all 'new' again There is this whole challenge of figuring out how everything works again.
I hope that everyone feels this way about it and I certainly hope to see Patch Two as soon as possible aswell (hoping that it will enable guilds to get an Outpost at last)

Re: Excitement about Patch One
I'm with you Vaynen I hope that patch 1 will be a constructive addition to the game, although for me best patch would be the optimisation of the game code because i'm a trycker and I'm forced to play with sound off
I love this game and I really hope that developers do love it as well. And I'm sure I have too many 'I' in this post

Re: Excitement about Patch One
Will we get any music in patch one?
Re: Excitement about Patch One
The date being, as it is so close to the release of 'the competition' makes these patches extremely important to the future of Ryzom. There is a necessity to get it right first time.
I do hope the patches arent as it seems to be, moving from one extreme to another, a huge pendulum swinging back and forth that seems to afflict so many other MMORPG's. It's not right that power levellers get to dictate the pace of progression for those that follow. By definition they are power levellers and not the majority.
I enjoyed harvesting solo as a change of pace when groups arent necessarily readily available. If the situation is now such that you have to group to progress in harvesting then its a mistake that could thin out an already stretched player base.

Re: Excitement about Patch One
Wonder how things will turn up
But from the sounds of it (ie that patch notes) mages wil lget even better since most of their skills get a reduced SP cost, while melee will basically be made useless with the double damage from mobs and their tendancy to come all at once
If this is a method to get people to teaming more (as they should, way to many solo players that screw up the group trips with their horrible teaming "skills", and the community is thin enough already, not to mention reserved) but doubling power of heal spells and doubling dmg mobs do is not the way.
A better approach would be to increase the max xp from a kill you can get in teams, that would encourage teaming while still making it possible to solo

Im with you on this one.. Give a grouping bonus, im sure it would be a lot easier to impliment than editing the mob database and changing every single dmg output and rate.jokque wrote:Wonder how things will turn up

There is no need to make the mobs harder and make it impossible for Melee classes to solo.
Wednesday will be a big day for me. Lets wait and see what happens then Im sure quite a few people will make decisions about Ryzom and its future.

Yea this week is quite interesting, both in general and thinking of ryzoms feature.
-EQ2 will launch after the weekend (so technically its next week )
-The state of WoW's open beta will be announced, maybe even started
-Presidential election in the states

Cluster**** by the devs on the harvest department, I am sooooo not looking forward to having 2000 different stacks of different ql and dying repeatedly cause you cant change source mode anymore.
Looking forward to the rest though, sounds like **** will actually happen now
