It's according to the dye you use, of course! Dye is only found while harvesting Choice mats, and the tools used require magical enchantment of at LEAST QL50.
That being said, if you ever check the info of loot you.. loot, or materials you harvest, you will see that it actually has a color. Whether it be the Turquoise color of a Clopper, or the purple Kipee (or red/blue of Choice mats..) it has a color. Whatever color you choose to use MOST in the craft determins its color.
So, any heavy armor crafted purely by storebought mats will be purple, since you use more purple materials.

Majority rules, plain & simple. Doesn't matter if it's a Q1 item or Q250 item. And I hope you were joking about the magical enchantment stuff there.neiana wrote:It's according to the dye you use, of course! Actually I was joking about the entire first paragraph. I mean, there's no such thing as dye If there were I would like to think it would be found by foraging nonetheless, but there still is no such thing.tleilaxu wrote:Majority rules, plain & simple. To be very simple: if you use 10 materials that are red and 9 materials that are blue, your crafted armor will be red. Just make sure to check the info on an item. There's a website about but I'm not sure where, that will show you the colors of many different mats.

Actually I did dig up some Supreme Red Dye once, it was a quest item. So maybe in future times....
