I also just realised something...what vendor sells Jewelry?
Will all jewelry crafters now cry foul?
Will Outlands suppliers sell the choice mats/items from other cultures?
Stay tuned...same bat time, same bat channel!

jvani wrote:Those that see using vendors as an answer to the quantity of mats available for crafting I *think* are overestimating the percentage of people who do nothing but forage all day only to sell, and dont either craft themselves or know a guildie that crafts and needs them. We shall see though!
With the increase in uses for dapper with the opening of vendors selling players stuffs, this may become a source of income for a larger quantity of players, high Q mats will get a better price so harvesting those high Q mats will in turn get you more dapper. And since the harvesters who also craft out of necessity rather than enjoyment will now have an outlet for their mats on the market, and a source of better gear as well, they will stop their crafting for now so they can do what they really do enjoy, which is foraging and hunting.
jvani wrote:Also, I think it would be a BAD idea to allow use of choice+ mats in other races' gear. We can all raise *all* terrain types of foraging, what would be the point if I only ever had to sit in the forest to make the Fyros armor I now have plans for? Needing choice+ desert mats to make good fyros as well as matis gear forces me to go explore the desert and get that other skill tree up. We'd lose something of the game.

I honestly don't think this be that bad of an idea, just raising 1 skill branch will not earn you the necessary skill points to purchase everything you need/want out of the harvesting branch. Just like the same goes for fighting/magic. Raising just pike up to 250 will only cover the sp needed for constitution/metabolism/strength/balance/self stamina heal/self hp heal. (every 10 levels in fight you unlock 2 str/con/balance/metabolism and 1 self hp heal and 1 self stamina heal. Leaving you with no extra sp for increased damage/accurate attack/ignore armor/warcry/berserk/invulnerability/speed up/etc/etc/etc. Hence the benefit of raising another 2h type/1h fight/close combat so you can become more well rounded. And certain materials aren't as easily accessable in one region compared to another. And with excellent and supreme grade materials, sometimes they are in-season in one area, but not in another. Further prompting the usefulness of having other harvests at a higher skill so you can pull out the good mats when they are available. But then again, this is just my view and opinion of the situation of what may(or may not) be.

Jewelry is of course sold by the jewelry merchant, the same way as tools are now sold by the tools merchant.

zzeii wrote:I definately agree with you, I myself am working all armor crafts, shields, melee weapons, and ranged weapons. And I enjoy going out and foraging all the mats I need to raise them. But push come to shove, having an increased income on the gear I grind my craft on will be most welcome. And it most definately would be nice to limit the 'bazaars' to their respective civilization. But a shell is a shell is a shell, and limiting what mats you can use to craft is a bear. What would be nice though, is to have each civilization's mat colourations be different. Like matis having tourquise and green, Trykers having blue and purple, fyros having red and beige, and zorat having yellow/orange. Kind of like how the PR mats are only white and black. Just a random idea, but would allow people to mix and match colours based off from specific civilizations mat resources.
No thanks to your colour suggestions. I like the ability to tailor armour colour to peoples' tastes. Having civilization specific mat colours would SUCK since currently you have to craft that civilisation's items in order to use their choice+ mats. Now if they changed this requirement that the mat matches the civilization craft then that would be ok since it would encourage crossborder exploration.

Yea, that would only work if they change the civ req's on the choice+ mats. Currently it blows to have use crappy mats to get purple/turqoise/green/beige armor imo.

This is why I posted all those posts about how quartered mats and a good vendor system should solve some of the mat supply issues. Without a good global vendor system, its easier for people to just sell to the local shop and get rid of them for fast cash. At least now there will be some quick and easy ways to get the mats you need to craft with. Lets hope competition keeps the prices down.
As for the tryker problem. Having explored winds of muse a bit more, I can say that maybe if they had made it easier to get into, people would realize that tryker ql100 areas is superior to the other ql100 areas. Unfortunately with all those wandering high level mobs, half of the resources are unreachable.
