Making guild/outpost battles available live or via web, would attract tradditional MMORPG players to Ryzom.
I know most of you might say Ryzom is not a traditional MMORPG or that those kind of players might not stay long, but we are talking about marketing means to attract as many players as possible, so this is a good idea for it.

Still thinking about doing a full 3d rendering of Fyros (call it Ryzom 3.0 if you like).

totally pro this idea, but to be simplier, why not add some kind of video portal on the main web server where people can post like a forum ? This should be easyly done with the help of youtube.com, dailymotion.com, google video ...

i think it's a good idea, we could even mix it whith the idea of having a bénévol communicating on each specialisez web sites. he could post the evolution of the outpost war.

Live broadcast could be excellent. (This reminds me of guy who broadcasted himself playing Warhammer - this made some publicity on several game-related sites.)
Also, combine this with the "virtual world chat" idea: create a chat room with a big live broadcast screen so avatars could live-discuss the ongoing battle.

If a live broadcast option was available, for some time after (say, 2 weeks), would it also be a good idea to allow a video of the broadcast to be downloaded, for those who missed the battle due to restrictions.
They could then see how it worked, whilst being able to pause/rewind etc to find out even more, and those related to Ryzom could then store them as a record if, for example, it was their guild and they won it.

It is feasible to have a video shown in my Virtual Chat idea. I didn't think about that. We could even extend the idea further by having publicity and advertisment in that Virtual Chat. But then I wonder, would that Virtual Chat loose its original purpose ?
Some games allow TV players. In the sense you are connected to the game but are only acting as a camera and not as a player. Therefore you could simply travel around to watch the battles and not being seen or affected by it.

Moved to Brainstorming for any more discussion and to see if anyone wants to manage this as a project.
