There's another type of these too - lighter colored smoke, round 'eyes' instead of mean-looking ones, wiggles around silly instead of hovering eerily...

Personally I've always thought they were the spirits of homins that died in the Goo.

These are the things called plasmoids or euphemerids We are trying to classify them in our addition to the floral atlas (allthough they are actually a kind of noncorporeal fauna...)

I wonder... But yeah, I saw those "happy ghosts" as well ! And had a newbie PM about them and tried to explain to him that it was just an animation that adds to the feeling of immersion.... in other words : happy-angry Kami spirits, maybe.

It *would* nicely fit with the dual image of the Kami as being sometimes playful and sometimes wrathful.

I saw those "happy ghosts" as well !

You mean this one? It appears to be a defense mechanism
for the seed pod in back of it.
The "ghost" is meant to scare off animals which might eat the pod.
It disappears when the pod bursts and releases the seeds.

That music is Sufjan Stevens...he plays some great stuff, albeit really sad! lol

Too many of the tracks on his albums are long winded, though, but then you hear ones like the one I used.

I am not usually creeped out by songs, but this song got to me: a song about John Wayne Gacy, Jr the serial killer. It's so sad and like, I don't know. The subject matter is what is disturbing:

That's what's so weird about the song. I mean the Sufjan guy is usually not into shock art type stuff..he's actually kind of boring.

Anyway, BE WARNED! The video shows nothing at all, save for old 50's type films and stuff, but nothing gory or explicit at all. The song is just sad and disturbing.
