Black screen after character select

I start the game, select character and go to start, instead of the usual loading splash, the screen goes black except for the ryzom mouse cursor. It seems to log completely into the game because I can hear the music etc.

If i kill the process and try to log back in, it gives me the usual message that my character is already logged in and to wait a few minutes, this is happening on both of my pc's here at home, not just the one I usually play on.

Firewall/Router ports?

I cold booted my router and that fixed the problem.
