I've been getting a rather unusual error:
http://img33.picoodle.com/data/img33/3/ ... 739963.jpg

I started having this problem yesterday. My first problem was the patcher would give me a "patcher failed" message, and the client would be showing old patch info from august.
Then I reinstalled and started getting this r2_login.php was not found on this server error. I have tried the repair utility, and reinstalling twice. When I reinstall I can log in fine once, then the next time I try I always get this error. Please help. :(

Edit: Oh, I run on vista, and if I try to run as admin it tells me it cannot find "client_ryzom_rd.exe".

Could try delete client.cfg and run the patcher. Or just replace whats in the .cfg file with this:

Code: Select all

StartupHost          = "su1.ryzom.com:40916";
StartupPage          = "/login/r2_login.php";
InstallStatsUrl      = "http://su1.ryzom.com:50000/stats/stats.php";
PatchServer          = "http://dl.ryzom.com/patch_live";
InstallWebPage       = "http://dl.ryzom.com/installer/";

Thanks I'll try it now, for the record here is what my cfg says now:

StartupHost = "su1.ryzom.com:40916";
StartupPage = "/login/r2_login.php";
InstallStatsUrl = "http://su1.ryzom.com:50000/stats/stats.php";
PatchServer = "http://dl.ryzom.com/patch_live";
InstallWebPage = "http://dl.ryzom.com/installer/";

It doesn't really look different though unless I'm missing something. I'm tired so that is entirely possible.

Edit: Deleting the file didn't seem to make any difference. I still got the error pictured above.
When I try to run the downloader it says, "Error impossible to load version infos. Please make sure your internet connection is operating correctly." Well, my internet is fine so it's not that.

bare minimum client.cfg must look like this

Code: Select all

RootConfigFilename   = "client_default.cfg";
StartupHost          = "su1.ryzom.com:40916";
StartupPage          = "/login/r2_login.php";
InstallStatsUrl      = "http://su1.ryzom.com:50000/stats/stats.php";
PatchServer          = "http://dl.ryzom.com/patch_live";
InstallWebPage       = "http://dl.ryzom.com/installer/";
.. but the first line difference is not the cause of your problem probably.
most likely ryzom does not see the edited version from client.cfg file.
Edit: Oh, I run on vista, and if I try to run as admin it tells me it cannot find "client_ryzom_rd.exe".
move Ryzom folder out from 'Program Files' and to your desktop, edit the client.cfg and run client_ryzom_rd.exe inside new folder.

Thank you!
That worked. While it's a bit of a pain to run it from a folder on my desktop, I'm willing to do so for such a good game. I really appreciate the help ajsuk and blaah. :)

Okay, so after a great deal of swearing and threats of violence Ryzom finally decided to work, joy. Imagine my surprise when I log out to go for a bowl of cereal and come back login fine, yep there's the character selection, there's my character, click play, screen fades to black and several seconds later I'm back on the character selection screen.

Reinstalled, tweaked just about everything tweakable, poked all the configs with a very sharp pointy stick and still no luck, what's the solution?
