I downloaded the client from the torrent supplied in the email, but, the client hangs at connecting. It never times out. I tried port forwarding, installing the update (Which wasn't needed), and disabling the software fire wall, none of which worked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried the steps from this thread? including the link in it to vista set-up guide if you are using vista.
