The Volunteer Thread

Post by cynthel »

Creation of a new Volunteer Team !

I'm posting this here because obviously I can't post in the General Forums, but I am a bit taken aback by such an announcement. Why are they asking people to apply for a position to work for them when we have no definite answers or announcements on who they are? I don't like blind dates and I sure as heck wouldn't go for volunteer work or a job not knowing about the company and who was involved. Hints I don't think are good enough.

Overreaction? I don't know, but it seems odd to me, I like to have my cards on the table. :/

Maybe there isn't a big company, and maybe instead its just joe player who really liked the game and bought it out when it went under to save it. Maybe said player doesnt really want publicity on him/herself at this time and is trying to keep a low profile as long as possible? That's what I assumed was happening for the most part hehe :)

Volunteer translation team.. I guess they want to bring the game to a wider market, it would be interesting to have different language groups in the same game, made for interesting politics in EvE (for instance)

Strange, I just heard that rumor on a podcast on Virginworlds like yesterday, one of the hosts just commented maybe it's an old player, someone might have mentioned that on the General forums and maybe that's where they go it from...

But anyway that's a bit out there imo, would make for a fantastic story though. ^^

I'm more interested in what kind of actions they'll take than who they are. Thus far, their actions bode well.

Besides, we are not entirely without clue as to who they are. We know they contain some Nevrax, but are not entirely comprised of it:

Well exactly that's all I want to know as well and I fully expect something before the billing system is back online, I'll still play on Silan when that is in swing but I won't resub until I know who they are exactly.

It's great that apparently people from Nevrax are here, in fact that's the one encouraging bit and very exciting. But I'm afraid speculation only goes so far. I think the above announcement just seemed rather too early, not that I presume to know better because I certainly don't, but a name, an affirmation something that isn't hearsay but visible in the form of a post saying hey this who were are ect.. Would do a long way to affirm faith, especially before asking for help.

Now I'm going into broken record mode :D Anyway I do hope for a little something soon from Spiderweb/Nevrax peoples and I'll see some of you on Silan. ;)

Eh, i volunteered for it-something to do in my downtime.

As far as for who they are, it'll be answered in time-all i can say is, until it's answered they're not getting more than my name and e-mail address.
