I've played since beta, I've played during unimaginable lag, and I've played for 3 days straight with no sleep. As long as Ryzom is up I will play. I love this game and even with 11 masters I am always finding things to do. Would I keep playing if they wiped? Hell yeah! Would I be mad about it? I'd beat a baby yubo to death with my bare hands (probably while on Silan grumbling unhappily).

As many people have said there is a history attached to their character. I've made friends, enemies, and people who have effected my real life in ways you can't imagine. There are so many memories I have with Dallae. Sure I could recreate myself but what's the point?

Honestly what is the point? With what I know now about grinding I'd have my first 250 (even without cats) in 2 weeks tops. Many of us know the song and dance and a reset won't change that. In about 2 month the only difference would be GHs full of less junk. Look how fast Cho grew. Within the first week OPs were being taken.

A reset only serves to piss people off at this point. Right now is a time to grow and rebuild. To destroy over 2 years of history and lives for some arbitrary reason seems so counter productive to me I can't even quantify it. Having us high level folks around really can help out new players and keep them around longer. Trekking, crafting, out of team healing/ power leveling, etc. I know personally there are people that wouldn't even be in game if not for my help when they were little and I know many of us can relate.

This whole talk of a wipe seems silly anyway. There was a lightning storm the other day that I went outside to enjoy and I was more worried about getting struck by that mess then I am about any kind of wipe or roll-back.

Hear, hear, Dallae! I couldn't agree more. I am getting pretty sick of all this wipe talk myself. And, honestly, I wonder about the folks who say they are in favor of it. I can't see anything positive being accomplished by wiping my character. You still can't wipe my mind.

I realized just how much i love being "high level" when I started playing WoW. I started out low leve (still am), and I hate it. I was almost tempted to buy a level 70 off of ebay it sucked so bad.

I never want to be low level again, unless it's my choice. I want to be able to defend myself, if i decide to dig in PvP PR. I like being able to take a little damage from mobs and not die right away.

As I've said before, I have a history to my character. But I'm also not a grinder, nor do I have time to grind. I know I would not play Ryzom, or any other MMO anymore, because I dont like being low level, and helpless.

At my levels (4 250s which took me waaay longer to get than some people with twice as many), I can help people who are low level. New players? No problem, I can help them just as easily at level 250. I can create an alt to level the 20s with. And it's not as if I dont have enough low level branches.

A restart is unncessary, for like the 500th time (not really, but you get the point).

I voted no, not because a wipe would affect me in any way, but because i fail to see any benefit coming from it.

Wasn't the original idea behind Ryzom, players evolving in a dynamic environment ? Meaning that the events that occured "shape" the world we play in ? I'm thinking of the many kitin invasions, Temple/sanctuary conflicts etc. I can't say for sure a different outcome of such events would have changed much but originally I believe that that's what the idea was. If you wipe out the server, you wipe out all the history behind it. Everything we've built to get the story going will be destroyed. Sure there aren't many roleplayers out there any more, but even though I don't roleplay at all (unless I'm encouraged to do so) I still take this "history" very seriously and to me, wiping the server of this would be like ripping the pages of a book. So I vote no, no way! Arispotle has relics! There are titles, clothes, weapons, objects, that although may not be of much importance for grinding, are there so people can remember what has happened on Arispotle ever since the server was open.
