Without the implementation of this, it really seems hard to raise craft without having some level of harvesting. If more people start doing pure crafts because they don't like the harvest grind, then this system will really start to balance out. + when you set your own price on a global market, you can adjust it based on how much of it you already see on the merchant.
Mat flux in pricing will be fun to watch. I still with the merchants were localized so that there would be a greater flux based on region and how far they are from certain mats!

Like matis having tourquise and green, Trykers having blue and purple, fyros having red and beige, and zorat having yellow/orange. Kind of like how the PR mats are only white and black. Just a random idea, but would allow people to mix and match colours based off from specific civilizations mat resources.

Ooo, yeah. I made this point somewhere else, but I'd love to have more flexibility in colours. I love blue armour, but my prefered *type* of armour seems to be mostly made of red mats. I want to make more black armour, but my sources of black mats don't come in my prefered mat types.

There ought to be a reason *why* they have desert/jungle/etc mats. If all races can use all mats, then that eliminates that designation. Colour would be an excellent way to differentiate it.

I love the turquiose mats, but they are almost all fine/basic mats so i don't use them as anything other than grind mats.

I'd also like to see the weapons reflect the colours of their mats. Coloured mats are irrelevant for weapon construction.

Or secondary colours. If 60% of the mats are white, and 40% blue, have white armour with blue trim. Stuff like that.

But that's minor points compared to some of the issues... so I'll just wait in the corner here and sew for a while. :D I have a lot of levels to catch up.

An interesting side effect of race-specific bazaars would be the ability for a limited amount of players to play "merchant" style characters, buying in one area and selling at a higher price in another. I'm sure that'd appeal to more than a few people out there.

Although I have to say, yellow and orange for Zorai? Blech. ;) Dibs on dark blue and black. :D

They aren't server wide.

"...All merchants have access to their continent's pool. This means that people can sell items of all types to any merchant and have them added to the pool. People can also withdraw all items, that they have sold into the continent's pool, from any merchant, whatever their specialty, on the same continent...."

CONTINENT.

If in Fyros, you can only see stuff sold to the Fyros merchants. For certain players who travel a lot will consign pieces from the other regions... but it's still worth exploring.

Regarding the guy above with his guild recycling mats: not everyone is in a guild. In fact, in my experience, it seems like 50% of the players are unguilded. Those 50% will be looking for mats from each other, for certain. So I think you will see plenty of mats available 'to the public'.

Cool! Thanks for the note.

Hrmmm..wondering how this will affect the tryker community at large...

Can see alot of people bringing mats there in hopes of making a better profit. A blessing and not a blessing in the same right if they don't make q100 mats more available in our lands. Not to be the dead horse but *WHACK* there should be q100 mats in dew drops or resting waters, not in Winds of Muse. I've been to other lands and see what critters are around their foraging spots, and its not force 100-200 mobs.

Don't know if it will be changed in patch 1, but for the love of Jena, I hope it is.

I like this as well, or at least put mats back to the way they were before focus beta so that they made sense by race crafting plans.

Especially if they flood the land with race specific mats hoping the Trykers can make Living weapons out of Fyros only mats.

Those that see using vendors as an answer to the quantity of mats available for crafting I *think* are overestimating the percentage of people who do nothing but forage all day only to sell, and dont either craft themselves or know a guildie that crafts and needs them. We shall see though!

Also, I think it would be a BAD idea to allow use of choice+ mats in other races' gear. We can all raise *all* terrain types of foraging, what would be the point if I only ever had to sit in the forest to make the Fyros armor I now have plans for? Needing choice+ desert mats to make good fyros as well as matis gear forces me to go explore the desert and get that other skill tree up. We'd lose something of the game.
