I think that was a reasonable change, makes the effect of the first constitution upgrade (+50 HP) and of HP bonuses on gear less important. What was overkill was also making the yubo's easier at the same time.
Geeez, then make it a 50

or put the yubos on some steroids

I thought of it, I just hoped really hard it wasn't so.
Silan seems to me to be "Ryzom, adapted to the standard MMO model". Which is exactly what you want for a newbie island, because it's supposed to introduce Ryzom to people who are used to the standard MMO model. But it's definitely not what I want for the whole Mainland.
[thread=28909]This thingy here[/thread] did seem to suggest they were busy making the Mainland more like Silan, but then, that was GF.

The old documents from Nevrax gave me the impression that, yes, they intended to have much more missions on the Mainland but! encyclopedia missions and missions that could really change the world! Not the Cookie-Cutter "Let's pretend this is a single player game!" standard MMO missions you see on Silan.
"Herbies have been disappearing up north, go see why! What? What do you mean hundreds of homins have already told me there's ragus up there? I don't remember that."
Yeah, that´s what I definitely do not want too.
The trouble with Missions that actually change something and the results of which will actually have a lasting effect on the Game and/or environment (wich for all practical purposes IS the game) are very, very, VERY difficult to implement and adapt to players constant need to "be the hero of their own story".
This is what gaming is all about.
All those other MMOS and even Console Games and PC-Games out there are made for this to take effect. To make the players feel like the hero.
Missions that are not repeatable will have one major drawback to cope with.
Human envy.
You saw how in the last days, when some f*ing jerk discovered and leaked the secret, people who never were around for the fitting events ran around with the "X/Y Champion" Title? Or who´ve never been in Beta suddenly had the Breakdance Emote? Or other things that were NEVER intended for them?
Pure envy was the motivation behind them WANTING these things and being f*ing proud to show something they had no f*ing way to have.
(Sorry for the strong words here but thats how I feel about these people. I´d really like to give their collective A$$ some good kicking... And I´d personally slap silly who´d ever say: "I cracked it for the good of the game, so they know what to fix", or some BS.)
And if missions are implemented that would be doable only once, or twice, then people would be green with envy very fast and felt left out. Would demand to be able to get whatever price "they" got from doing that mission too and would not stop before they had it on grounds of it "being unfair."
That´s simply how the virtual world works. Sad as it may seem.
Sooner or later some stupid (intelligent cracker) idiot would again find and leak out the way to get these things ans ...puff... whomever had it by rights was just one among many again.
Here I´ve written down what I think could be possible to overcome this problem. I hope someone in charge sees it and thinks about it.
