LOL I'm still paying for my realm account; why, I don't know. There are definitely enough others out there to keep this one afloat.

And ya know, the Realm doesn't have MAS, amazing 3D graphics, umm, a point, or anything.... and there's always several hundred people playing. There are lots of obscure games with a cult following like this -- Dark Ages (http://www.darkages.com) is another, like all those other crazy Nexon games.

Anyway, It's not always about being the best MMORPG ever that everyone in the world wants to play all the time. Ryzom appeals to a niche, and it's a niche that will grow over time, with a strong, dedicated fanbase.

Most of us are, afterall, disillusioned players from other MMOs who are looking for something new and different, are we not? ;p

ME ME! - I am delusional player... oh you meant dis-illusioned, well I am one of those too :-) 5 years in EQ and I finally quit. 4 years in AO, finally quit. 2 years in DOAC, finally quit. 2 weeks in SWG. 1 day in AC.

Ryzom however is great, limited so far, but I am really enjoying it. Yes it needs more, but looking at nearly every other launch it is the same thing... content takes time. And I might add it probably takes players as well, considering the player base is still alittle small it might be that some of the content is not yet appropriate... HUGE KITIN INVASION, all players (all 50 of them) are killed, all cities captured... Kitins win! Game over. lol.

A good mmorpg takes time, I dont think one month is a fair sample of the game, and those people leaving now - well you attention spans suggest that you would be a hidnerance in any group rather than a benefit (Sorry guys was in chat with this other guy... sorry guys was feeding the cat... sorry guys - guys? why are you all dead?)

I'm gonna try EQ2 because I have friends who are gonna play, but I will run two games for a time, and it will be EQ2 that will need to prove itself to me, as I wont be dropping SoR.

One thing I would like is for more communication about exactly what is going on. Even a 'patch one is still being tested, please wait' message would be nice. The silence is deafening...

Don't forget Meridian 59.. Its still kicking around ( in 3d now ). That game had some great gameplay elements that no game has yet to match.

Don't know about the others, some will be released, some may not. Not trying to nitpick, just pointing something out.

Will SoR survive? I don't know, probably. AC2 is a good example of a small MMOG that's still going. Never seems to be more than 800 people on at peak times, and never more than 15 on the PvP server, but they havn't canned it (yet).

I suppose it depends on how much it costs Nevrax to run the game. We don't know what their costs are and we don't know what their revenue is. Guess all we can do is wait and see.

Here's the BEST answer possible :)

It depends on how much WE the players support it, AND get the word out to out friends.

Hmm, im always amazed at how ppl tend to only consider european and NA playerbases. Think of the far east, the arab world,Russia and the surrounding countries, and other such regions. Gamers reside all around the globe and can somehow get their hands on the box and definitely on the dowloadable version.
So whatever the combined numbers of the Na and european populace is... double it and ull have the ryzom population ;)

Ryzom will live, but im a blizzard fanboy so i cant help but try Wow :P
Am i supposed to write something witty here ?

I think Ryzom will make it past November, no doubt.

Will I and 80% of the guild I was in make it past Nov.... No Chance In Hell.

Ive seen at least 70% of the people in your Tryker guild quit playing the game and will probably never pay one months subscription. Yes the game has gone totally down hill since launch. NO one can convince me otherwise.
I can honestly say that the few people that are left in my guild that we are going to leave Ryzom and try other games for awhile. This will creat even a bigger void in players in an already voided game.

Will the game get better in coming months? Yes Im sure of this as there is 100% no content in this game. (I do not count killing mobs and crafting as content cause this is a games base not its content)

What I like in mmos is people in mmos, this game has no people.. 400 people in a game at the same time is so incredibly weak. Trykers at primetime have less than 50 peeps in every zone 100% gurantee. I will no longer be able to play a game with no player base, this is 100% reason why Im quitting. I cant stand empty mmos. I level my craft and work my arse off for a total of 300 people still left that play this game? No thanks.

Where are the guild missions, the guild pvp promised? I think its in Guild Wars, WoW or EQ2 for me.

I like Ryzom, I have no bad things to say about it but I cant play a game with no people.

Rubies of Eventide has had server shut downs, Earth and Beyond has shut down ALL servers. They are dead for the moment. Rubies had a VERY loyal but SMALL fan base, and eventually they did find a buyer that would open a server for this TINY player base (less than 800 total worldwide I think).

YES games HAVE died, but...MOST of these that HAVE died did so due to reasons that this game does NOT have. Earth and Beyond was a SLAVE to weekly events and storyline over debugging and delagging. With SIX SECOND lag times (click count to six one thousand, ship responds), nothing else should have mattered...PERIOD. The Storyline EnB had was UNBELIEVEABLE, my hubby was a Navy Nuke and was pulling out his Navy day college Physics books. And we were BOTH looking up deep ancient philosophy from MULTIPLE cultures (ancient India religious texts, Ancient Norse religious texts, Ancient Greek philosophers etc). And if the lag was EVER addressed in the first nine months...hubby and I would have stayed, but they LIED repeatedly to player base.

THIS game had a HUGE lag issue on NA server shortly after release. The issue was posted BY CS staff to this forum and was fixed in less than five days. Hmmmm Seems to be a HUGE difference in the approaches of the staff of these games to me!

Ryzom also has plans on storyline and other "content" development, BUT they have rethought the timing in order to take SERIOUS bugs and other game issues and fix them FIRST.

I for one respect these devs and their flexibility in this issue. I can be patient as long as they continue to see an issue, address it and fix it. As long as SOME new content hits the game every two months or so...I am happy.

PRE-Ulimtia Online games are still going. For instance, I bought The Realm 7 or 8 years ago and people still play it. Lol Still at the exact same website too http://www.realmserver.com/. And look, Meridian 59 http://meridian59.neardeathstudios.com/ ... still freaking exists! I might even wish those games WOULD die.

Survive? Please. Weaker titles have survived countless Novembers.

Saga of Ryzom is just getting started.
