Im "satisfied" with the current state except for one thing:

Guilding
We struggled to get our hall, mostly 5 persons bought it.
We got it at last.... and thats it, we have it.. nothing more.
We can have meetings and store stuff. But no more goals atm to reach as a guild.

I believe the official page promises very in depth guilding opportunities that cant be found yet. False advertising.

All we do now is forage like crazy to lvl crafters. As there are no outposts yet. Guilding stopped having that greater purpose so were stuck with grinding again and maybe try some travelling to other lands.

It works for me atm. but for how long?!
Will I wait or try another game? (why does 2 names come in mind? :P )

Some of the promises:
"Purchasing expansions improves the guild hall and allows the addition of various amenities and the hire of NPCs to handle shops, training, and other important functions. These NPCs can offer Actions and other abilities that are not available through normal trainers.

Guild members also gain access to guild missions, which are larger and much more epic than individual missions. These missions will often involve claiming an outpost in the wilds of Atys, and holding it against attack for a designated amount of time. Although challenging, the rewards for these missions can be great, and they apply to every member of the guild."

Exactly my point, for me I have hit that wall. My character now ranges from 70 to 100 across the skills. Now Ive built my character up I want to go out and see interesting places and do interesting things.

Not go out with a party and just hit my stanza while smacking something with a pike while eating my dinner, or trying to skulk around the countryside trying to forage while trying avoid creatures that seem to track you from over 100m away. Yes over 100m away, its happened to meseveral times now.

Matis is so obviously designed so that the use of the outposts is required to further the game and yet are not available.

: I read the growing negativity on the forums and I find it upsetting. A number of people what this to be a 'different' game, something like a game they have played before, I just don't get this idea. Others have played it solidly for one month and then say they are bored, if I eat chocolate everyday for a month, I would be bored with chocolate. That is not the games fault! (or the chocolate in my example).
If there's only chocolate there only chocolate and no other taste to consume. People will move on when there's only one flavour to consume. You cant blame people, they are paying customers and have every right to say what they want ;)

So far it seems Ryzom will loose a large base of customers due to...

* Lack of communication on Nevrax part regarding upcomming patches and timeframe of release.
* Population ingame. I'm guessing each of the current four servers has a max of 1000 players.
* Lack of quests/content.
* Zero marketing of the game and distribution is a joke. Games aren't on the shelves in stores, can't be ordered in some countries etc etc (except from the possibilty to digital download it, some stores are really upset about this)
* Upcomming release of EQ2 and WoW.
Always remember that u are unique, just like everyone else ;)
