As I'm playing the game, I can create a character, and get started in the game, but I don't have a cursor as I'm playing and it makes playing much, much more difficult.
If anyone could offer a solution as to what I could do, that'd be great.
Viewing/Play Issue
Re: Viewing/Play Issue
try shift+f9. if it works, then you can make it permanent in ingame configuration under inputs/mouse/hardwarespawnshank wrote:As I'm playing the game, I can create a character, and get started in the game, but I don't have a cursor as I'm playing and it makes playing much, much more difficult.
.. but if both keyboard and mouse does not work (you dont have control over your char), then.. hmm.. i have never had that one, so dont remember what's the solution sorry. you may try alt-tab (while game is loading maybe) and/or try to run Ryzom in windowed mode.

Thanks Blaah, I tried that, but it didn't work.
I'm fairly sure it can recognize my keyboard because I can create a character and name him, it's just that the cursor isn't visible. It's still technically there, just not where I can see it.
The problem is, this isn't the only game it happens with... and I haven't a clue as to where to go with it.

close Ryzom if it's running, then go to ryzom install directory (by default it's c:\program files\ryzom) and locate client.cfgspawnshank wrote:I'm fairly sure it can recognize my keyboard because I can create a character and name him, it's just that the cursor isn't visible. open it with notepad and add this line at the end
Code: Select all
HardwareCursors={};
save and try again (try shift+f9 ingame if mouse cursor is still not visible, white mouse cursor should be appear)
if this does not work... i dont know what will ;-(

Dang...
I did what you said, and copied that command directly as typed, and put it at the end of the prompt, nothing changed.
Except that, when I click play [with no visible cursor, but a selected character, because I can still do that], sometimes as I sat there listening to crickets, an image of "A computer with a wire, leading to an x" appeared. Gahh. I want to play badly. D:
