Range actions not working

I'm curious why Ranged actions aren't working as they should for me. Look here, what it looks like even though I'm clicking on the Action like mad:

1: The Action icon doesn't pop over to the left square as in Melee
2: Stamina isn't draining.
3: (Probably not related) Why are there no Bow-weapons here?

The Action is most likely not being used. How come?

The Action is most likely not being used. How come?

What weapon(s) did you try it with? And have you been using the range rate brick in your stanzas before?
I have used it successfully with rifle and pistol all the time, but can't test right now. No experience with bow-type weapons though.

This shouldn't cause it to fail *every* time (and even then it would still use stam) but I would try a lower level firing rate stanza to match your ranged level which will improve the success rate greatly.

The bow weapon icons aren't there, I'm assuming, because those aren't really different weapons? ... just a different craft plan for regular rifle and pistol.

Honestly, it looks like some sort of stuck skill bug that a re-log would fix, but I'm sure you tried that before you got here....

Did you try using a gun with just an accurate attack action to see what happens?

My ranged actions have been running fine.

That's most likely the problem. I did the same thing the first time this happened to me and also found it didn't help at all.

Quick answer: Just doubleclick the action once to start attacking, that should put the action on auto-repeat.

Make sure to do it fast enough or it'll be perceived as two single clicks, leading to the situation you describe. Also don't click the action any more after doubleclicking it, as this cancels the auto-repeat and thus also leads to the situation you describe. If you do get in that situation, just doubleclick again to reactivate the auto-repeat.

Now for the long explanation:

How melee attacks work (and ranged attacks should work):
- Using a melee Action will put you in attack mode.
- Being in attack mode causes you to constantly use your default attack.
- Clicking a custom melee Action once moves it into the queue, and it'll be performed instead of the next default attack.
- Doubleclicking a custom Action puts it on auto-repeat, and you'll constantly use that Action instead of the default attack.

But how ranged attacks really work:
- Using a ranged Action will put you in attack mode.
- Being in attack mode causes you to constantly use your default attack.
- Clicking a custom ranged Action once moves it into the queue, but it'll never actually be performed. You'll hapilly keep doing default attacks.
- Doubleclicking a custom Action puts it on auto-repeat, and you'll constantly use that Action instead of the default attack.
- But clicking that Action again, while it's on auto-repeat, cancels it again and you'll go back to doing default attacks.

I had no idea about doubleclicking... gun fighting just got better. And I imagine melee will turn be after learning this.
