This is a great response man, thanks! I as well, DO NOT think the CSR's are abusing their power. Do I KNOW it's not happening? Of course not. Would I even care if they were? Not really...after all they have been through.
All I was doing was simply asking an interesting question: how does power work in Ryzom? None of us know for sure what is happening...to me that is a fascinating, and yes beautiful thing. None of real lives are at stake here..so we can safely look into the dramatics and workings of our lil Homin's virtual souls!
You all remember THIS right:

I am not saying that the CSR's will quickly play the role of evil.. and us the good, but the state the game is in right now is the most REAL I've ever felt in an MMO. If we WERE on a desert island...what would happen? Who would take charge? Who would crack first?
But again I acknowledge that I know NOTHING. I am simply asking certain questions, that to me, (while some see danger in those questions) are not only fascinating, but FUN to ask.
Let's not take this so seriously here. What IF the CSR's said "there ain't no one to stop us! we are forming a killing posse and we will march the landscape killing everyone! Try to stop us!"....I know for a FACT that I'd be the first one to log in and try to stop them! And with a smile on my face too!

The government has fallen, and it's going to take a few months to set up a new one. In the meantime though, the whole system of law and enforcement is kept in mostly the way it was under the old government, until such a time that the new one is ready to take over. Simply because that's preferable over allowing the nation to fall into anarchy for all those months.
Yes, ofcourse there's a risk of power abuse by CSRs. But I'm not particularly afraid that this risk has increased since GF is gone. The CSRs no longer have GF watching over their shoulder, but they're still a whole team of people who if necessary can police eachother if one of them steps out of line. Companies are just run by humans too, having one in charge is no safeguard against power abuse. Far from it.
I'm glad the CSRs are still around. The risk of power abuse by them is far outweighed by the risk of uni chat being flooded with spammers on trial acounts, methinks.
