If we want to save this awesome game, we have to post in all forums that we know this horrific situation. "Yeah, but what will be the results?" still better than saying I'm giving up, "I'm off of ryzom" (Sun Ce and Nyfertiti, *smacks you hard*), that's not the spirit, do you want to broke the community? I'm talking about the community created within Ryzom, not the game itself. I'm talking about how sad i feel and how sad you feel when you saw the Marjo's post. Put in your posts these keys to succeed in profits for a company:

1) Credit bank
2) Learn from Nevrax and Gameforge's engineers
3) Open new servers in Asia, Portugal and Spain
4) Keep going the development (is not only a living planet, but a living world)
5) Do a marketing campaign at the size of crappy WoW's
6) Wait for the profits

You can't handle Ryzom, Gam€forg€, coz you don't know anything about business, go back to your Ogame.
I agree with Netsulta here; backing out of the game is not the way to go, but what is there to do when we don't even get the truth about what's going on with Gameforge right now? Nobody's heard anything concrete for weeks now, that's not a very good start.

However, having said that, if the game is worth pursuing then somebody's bound to save it, or at least they should. I don't know about you, but I'm so in love with the game I'm willing to do near anything to keep the liquidators for destroying the world that's come to be my second home during the past few weeks. Yes, I am quite a recent player, but already I can see the gem we've got here.

I'm right with you, Netsulta ...got any ideas? =/

A ray of hope? Possibly. However unlikely that seems, I'm glad you mentioned it. It had never occured to me, and it gives me a thread to hold on to. However, don't you think Gameforge would tell us what's going on then? What, do they want to lose this amaing community we have and risk us never finding out it's been relaunched?

And on the note of communities, if they did do that, then wouldn't there be the risk of Ryzom becoming just another Warcraft, with the same immature players, all teenage boys with zits and no girlfriends parading around as Dark Elves with backbreaking busts?

Played ryzom for a long long time, but there is no way i can bring myself to log into a game that may be turned off at any point, let us know whats going on and let me pay for my 3 accounts again.

The longer there is no news more people will leave and there is no chance of a new player coming along and starting under these circumstances, sort the issues out or there will be no players to play once the game is bought. (I know there are those who are loyal to ryzom no matter what, but not enough to keep the game going).

This I just don't get. Any game can be turned off at any point. I mean, anything in the world can be turned off at any point. Yet we still keep doing whatever it is we do. And the fact that the servers have not been turned off yet after months of whatever-state-Ryzom-is-in points to there being a future. Do you have friends in this game? Do they mean anything to you? Why would you just drop all that because they stopped charging a monthly fee? Ultimately anything you do in an online game is meaningless, but the friends you make and the environment in which you interact are what's important. Whether or not you're paying 15 bucks a month to some company doesn't change those last two things.

This isn't neccessarily true. I'm a new player (upgraded my account recently using a boxed CD key from eBay), and I continually run into new players on Silan (granted, it is Silan so everyone there is probably new). A couple of folks I met last night have been playing for a couple months, grinding their characters up to the 50s. New people will come. Ryzom has tremendous word-of-mouth value (which is usually proved right when people log into its unique world). Yes, the lack of info on its future does discourage some, but counteract that with the free to play aspect and you've got a steady trickle of new folks coming in. Once things get settled, I bet there will be even more interest.

So, come back! I'm sure there are folks in game that miss ya! :) And you could always roll an ALT and help out new folks on the island!

True any game can be turned off at any time, but how many games have had soon to be 3 owners in a matter of a few years? it's not a positive image.

For me the game didn't start till i had a few lvl 250s, being capped at lvl 50 on RoS must be a nightmare, granted a few people will see alot of potential and fall in love with ryzom, but that will be a much smaller % now they now they have no way of accessing the full game.

Don't get me wrong i have paid for 3 accounts on ryzom for 2 (or 3, cant honestly remember) years, and i will always pay for the game while i can, but i must say the longer this situation lasts the more long lasting damage will occur.

Looking forward to some real news.

Sorry to say so, but then you aren´t in the right game for you.
If all you look at is your level, then "true" Ryzom isn´t for you.

The Grind isn´t everything.

Aye i have to argue against all this rubbish about 'the game going at any minute'

i'm playing for free. i spend most of my time running around with Bandan/Sak or other players doing fun and stupid things that are definitly not leveling me up. 2.5 years of ryzom and STILL i have 0 250s, hell 0 240s! i hit my first(and only) 236 a few weeks ago(Dig! O.o). I'M HAVING AN AMAZING TIME.

sure, some people are more dependant on having levels to have fun - and i agree with this TO A POINT (for instance i'm force-leveling Bandan and her loverboy Teoh for a while, because i believe the game is infinitely more enjoyable when you aren't being whacked to death in one hit by a goari in oasis...)but i'm doing it all in a way thats fun, stopping constantly to do something stupid (like try to take the slayer rendor with two level 50s ... ) or going on an insane trek thatll likely kill everyone involved! always always always impressing on my little-ones (i've had MANY) the Lore of Atys and why we are here doing what we do.

if no one bothers trying the game out - if everyone leaves because it "might go poof" at any minute - our chances of keeping the game alive drops dramatically (who wants a game everyone gives up on at sign of trouble? ) thankfully enough. there's a BUNCH of us still playing and we're having a great time all. anyone and everyone who misses the game, get your butts back in here. quit feeding the hate.

I think you have my mate slippery wrong acridel, he loves the game, the people, the politics, the war's and yeah the grind. I know exactly where he is coming from, the game didnt start for me until I hit my first 250 and could handle myself in pvp, suddenly being there for other people made a difference and the game develops from being a standard grindfest with a nice community to a whole different level.

slippery is probs one of the most dedcated players I know and the game sure wouldnt be the same without him. At the moment though we have no politics, no real wars, lots of lost friends and the possibility of it all going pop anyways. That is why people stay away

"The game might go poof at any given minute."

Seriously, I don't get this argument. Your LIFE might go poof at any given minute, does it prevent you from living it ? I guess not. For many, it's even a reason to enjoy it even more. IF Ryzom does disappear, I won't regret the moments I spent, enjoying it to the last minute while I still could. Yes I would be sad, but not as much as if I hadn't played it at all when I was able to, knowing I wouldn't ever be able to play it ever again.

And saying that people aren't able to come to the Mainland from Silan isn't exactly true. If Bandan did and a couple of newcomers managed to do so too, then all hope is not lost. The fact that people even bother buying a box to get access to the full game before it "dies" just shows how much potential the game would have to sell if advertised properly. Oh yeah... and Silan isn't that horrible if I managed to survive 4 months on it with a laggy laptop on minimum settings. Yes, I was insanely in love with the game and its community, so what ?

It doesn't take any lvl 250 to really enjoy the game. I have none. Surviving a run through aggro-infested lands with basically no offensive skills is much more exciting than blasting away with a lvl 250 mage. It still seems to me that travelling through Void was much more challenging when I didn't have a lvl 150 in melee.

Seems to me I have made much more ingame friends since Ryzom's life is "at stake" than I had time to when I was powerleveling like mad. What is there left to do when all the skills you wanted are at 250 ? Sit back, relax and socialize ? Trek, hunt bosses and named mobs, go to OP battles ? Wait... I don't need a lvl 250 to do that...

*LOL*
So, people go away because of people going away... yeah, right.
THAT´s a completely logical way of reacting.

Jeeez, humans are such herd animals. *shakes head*

Allright, in a way I can understand that "helping" your facition in PvP is a reason to stay and to have fun for someone like you that is realy into PvP.
But what I absolutely do not get, is your, or your friends for that matter, seeming unwillingness or unableness to do anything BUT PvP. And to even admit that anything BUT PvP makes sense or could even cause you to have some fun InGame. Very, very sad.

No wonder you´re leaving.
I´m aboslutely not into PvP, I´m a RPer by heart, those guys with wich I mostly played are gone too. Ironically for just the same reasons, only PvP is replaced here with RP here. -.- And I don´t understand them neither.
I´m still here and I get to know NEW People, like Sak, and/or many others that share or don´t share my interest and I still have FUN!

I realize that the game might some day go poof, so what?
Live life to the fullest, they always say.
So, why not "use the Game to the fullest"?
Play for what it´s worth, play untill the lights go out.
Then will still be more than enough time to mourn a lost friend and one hell of a Game.

For now I´m still with it, and I´m not pulling the plug myslef by saying:
"Nay, it could be switched of anytime now, and it would be too much of a hurt for me to handle."
*LOL* Sorry, but that´s only prolonging the hurt for yourself.
Mourning over something that´s not realy dead yet where everyone can hear it, won´t help you or anybody. It will only keep away and disturbe those who´d otherwise maybe would´ve tried it and realy HELPED to get it back to normal.

Hide all you want, Ryzom will either die or go on, with or without you.
But the chances are sigificantly higher, if people would STOP whining and wallowing in self pitty and get their sorry a$$es back into the Game they oh so dearly love.
Loving it to death, at the moment by posting such rubbish and staying away instead of helping it survive.
