*cringes a little* I get the feeling that either I am not able to make myself clear, or people just fire away without realy reading my posts.
But what you described is almost exactly what I wanted.
The only Problem is, that Event-Staff can not be forced to be Online 24/7 or to work in shifts to realy realize such things. As wonderfull as that would be.
I´m all for immersion and a giant ! above a Mission givers head is out of the question, of course, but I don´t realy see the problem with walking up to say, the Captain of the City-Watch and ask him: "Hey, you´ve got something to do for me?"
Or reading a Signpost saying "Help needed." Or whatever...
Me and others "wishing for Quests" as you state is not wishing for more grind and more boredom, it was intended as a collection of Ideas, like yours, that would help to keep Ryzom what it is AND make it more attractive to new and old players.
So, please before you condecsent upon someon again, read what was the original intention and don´t draw conclusions to fast. Thank you.
@iceaxe68
Thats what we meant.

@eriu3
WoW-Comparrisons on the side, the Ideas are OK. If the Ring would have worked as intended and more people would have used it, we would surely have such "Raids". It was possible to limit it to certain levels. Or Groups for that matter.
The Ring is still a brilliant Idea and a most comfortable tool for those of us who do not have such a strong grasp of Programming as others.
*glance to Kaetemi*
Some complained about it because it would not let them programm their own contend into it. Or it was not allowed to use what they found in the code...
Well, I guess it was not allowed for a reason. Maybe the new owners won´t care for whatever reason Nevrax had back then (and if you think a bit you can very much guess at the exact reason) and you will be able to put in whatever you found in the depth of the code, but for now The Ring sadly doesn´t work at all and we are limited to our imaginations and suggestions to make a better Game for everyone.
Not just for those who want "more rewards", or know more programming, or want no grind at all.
A compromise is needed, thats what this Thread was for IMHO.
There´ll never be a way to please every sort of player out there, thats a fact.
But there must be some sort of compromise in the way Missions are presented to at least give us more meaning InGame and through it more Fun.
