Configuring client/Klients to run through a proxy

Post by whiterider »

Well.. my ISP sucks, impressively, as I can't get to anything on the ryzom group through them - and their response to my complaint was "we'll look into it", meaning that things will stay that way for a while.

So I was wondering if it'd be possible to get the game running through a proxy - any help is appreciated.

I poked around the Klients files, and tried to connect through mIRC but couldn't find proxy values in either app. Ofc Klients is pretty secondary - I was trying to connect in the hope that someone would know to get the client working - but eh.
As for the Ryzom client, I've not even tried. I don't have the tools to edit much more than .bats and .inis, and I really don't want to have to go through the endless (no, really, it is) joy that is installing if I screw something up. :P .

So, if anyone has any info or links that might help me, it'd be most appreciated. Of course I still have to find a proxy to use - posting here through a URL scrambler - but that shouldn't be as difficult as getting Ryzom to use whatever I do find, I hope.

Also, my ISP is Virgin, so i think when I get online I should grab my Silaner and go kill some Inexperienced Yubos, just for the symbolism... -.-
