Computer keeps reseting?!

Hello there and thanks for any help and support you can give me for my situation.

I downloaded Ryzom to my gaming computer today so that I could play with some friends who just resently decided to try Ryzom out. Download went great, logged into my account, created a new character, and started playing for a bit.

All seemed to be going smoothly except for a few lag spikes that seemed to worsen a bit but would stop and game play would continue as normal. I took a break for a bit to make dinner and such. I come back, load Ryzom, login, and select my character to play. The game loads and then suddenly the background starts to act weird and glitchy. The graphics start to fizzle and such and then my computer reset. After the reset, I attempted again and the same thing happened...game loads/starts, graphics go crazy, game freezes, computer resets.

Now, I thought maybe it was my computer for some reason even though it's a brand new computer and works great. So, I loaded up some other games I have been playing off and on and they work flawlessly. I login and play with no lagging at all and no computer resets. I load Ryzom again, login, and it resets my computer.

Any suggestions?! Please help!!

Could you give more details about your system (OS, ram, cpu, vid card, etc) and if anything new was added between playing and taking a break for dinner?

Hello Thurmar. I will do my best as I don't know everything, I just wanted the best...or well best at the time my pc was built.

Windows XP Pro Version 2002
AMD Anthlon(tm) 64x2 Dual
Core Processor 3800+
2.01 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

Ummm, not sure what else you need or where to look. >< Let me know what else you may need.

And no, nothing else was added to the pc during my dinner break yesterday.

Just find it weird it is doing this with this game. I have played World of Warcraft for the past 3 years along with other RPG games online and none have ever glitched, lag spiked, or caused my cpu to constantly reset.

A quick reference for getting the system info that's needed - particularly cideo card. Yes, yes, it's on a wiki for Sims 2, but that particular article is universal.

I know the Aris server was acting up but should now be running and I was wondering if this has in any way affected your issue?

I have tried 2 of the servers and still have the same issue. I logged onto Atis last night with my original character and actually played for about 15 mintues before it reset my pc again.

Follow http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15428this threads instructions and see if it helps you. Make sure you rename save folder instead of deleting it. When you run Ryzom with a fresh save folder you will have lost any map markers you may have had or custom key settings, but dont worry...if you just renamed the old one we can get them back for you.
