5 Minute log-ins??

Post by deadwolf »

Anyone else having this problem?

From the time I click play, it takes anywhere from 5 - 8 minutes for me to get in game.

System is defraggred weekly, anti-virus is up to date Almost 3GN processsor and 512RAM

Any thoughts or ideas or solutions?

Thanks,

Wolf

post your system specs? and you might want to try posting in the "Technical Problems" forum

Five minutes is probably a bit long, but my system is fairly 'beefy' and it can take a minute or two as everything is loaded, downloaded, and synced. Are you sure it's five minutes, timed, or does it just seem like five minutes as you eagerly await?

If everything runs fine once started, I don't think it's anything other than being a very complex program with a lot of resource requirement.

if it genuinely IS five minutes, PLEASE post your system info and any other issues you have on tech forums. I got alot of help there getting my daughters system connected. (turned out to be a linksys issue, NOT the game, but I STILL got help there...THANKS GUYS *HUG*)

It's normal.... we have two beefy 2GHz + machines with 1GB of ram each -- it takes a couple of minutes, not *quite* 5, but it feels that way after a long day at work :)

Main problem is your lack or ram. I believe 512 is the minimum. Takes me 2 minutes with 2 Gigs.

Should have a minimum of 1 gig of ram to make the game happy really. With only 512 you are going to be using virtual memory (your harddrive) a LOT. Any time it has to do that it takes a long time to keep swaping data.

unnecessary post but yeah when the game is happy it is usually using like 497 megs of ram, which leaves um....15 for your system files...which is not ganna work

Takes me about 5 minutes also. I have only 512 RAM, so I guess that must be the problem. I've certainly found this game to load slower than any other I've ever played.

Sounds like a ram issue possibly, but could also be a hd prob. Are you running a 7200rpm harddrive or a 5400 rpm hard drive? if 5400 consider tossing that into a backup rig and picking up a 7200rpm drive. Also amitst I disagree about ram usage, I have 1gb in my system and I have brought up the task manager out of curiosity, only to find ryzom eating up around 900+mb of the ram. 2 minutes for loading seems to be the average load time, some slightly faster while others are slightly slower. Also try disabling any active background programs before loading up ryzom.
