Unable to launch game, downloader broken?

I downloaded and installed Ryzom onto my PC, there's a folder in the Directory, etc. etc., but there's just one problem. I can't run the game. Clicking the icon on my desktop launches the installer again, and I can't find any sort of .exe file in the directory that would start up the game itself. Furthermore the box that says "Start Ryzom now" at the end of the installer doesn't do anything. I can check it all I want, nothing will happen.

is the downloader broken since it neglected to give me the file to launch the game? Is there a place I can get the launch file itself without having to spend another 5 hours downloading the whole game only to have it not work again?

Nevermind. I just found the solution in the FAQ, hopefully it works.

Don't think the downloader is broken, but maybe you are unable to run because of the current state of uncertainty. But as far as I know, you should be able to run the game. Glad to have your interest in Ryzom, it shows people are finding the game even if there is little to no advertizing from GF. Look me up once you are on Silan and I will help you with whatever you need.

same symptoms as in first post ? running vista perhaps ? have you tried to change install location to desktop or "my document" folder ?

you may also try unofficial installer u.R.D.M. small patching required after install probably and also remember where you installed it as you need to make icons to desktop yourself.
