First an introduction, I used to play this game back when it was first released, i still actually have the box version of the game

I survived through the frustrations of 'patch 1' which made every mob invincible at the time

Not sure if anyone around will remember me, an indifferent Zorai named Atomos. He was a member of a guild called Shadow's of Dementia (i think - if i remember correctly) back in the good 'ol days!
Atomos could regularly be seen face down in the dirt awaiting a rez from som other passing helpful Homin

He didn't really take much to foraging, crafting or that malarky but was pretty handy with a 2 handed sword

Im really sorry to hear that Ryzom is going through this tough time again, i really hope it pulls through and you all dont have to find somewhere else to live for Atys is a truly incredible place to spend some hours.
I really wanted to post on the thread regarding the suggestions for other games for you all to try bt the freebie account is unable to.
Since leaving Atys i have been playing FFXI. While i understand it is never going to replace the living breathing world of Atys i urge some of you to at least give it a try, the starter pack is £4.99 with 30 days playtime. It is a fantastic game with a great, helpful community, my Server averages about 3000 people at most times. The game is class (job) based but with the combination of main job and sub job, you really can come up with some unique combinations. The best things about FXI to me are that it has a deep storyline, theres sooooo much to do, the battle system requires skill and teamwork and the world is massive! Though to enjoy it properly i would recommend a joypad though it is not a necessity.
Here's a nice vid of some of the jobs/areas etc, all in game footage :-

I hope some of you take my suggestion into consideration, you will be truly welcome in the land of Vana'Diel, look me up my name is Atomo on Sylph (server)
