Ok i tried FFXI. It's an excellent game, if you love quests; I hate quests! Game play too slow and graphics suck.
On the upside I'm also tryin' RFOnline, and I've got a good feeling about this one. Detail is more intense than Ryzom, plays the same, and they just launched Episode II late last month. Downside is it's class based but allows the use of other skills on a basic level. Lots of potential

I've been casually playing LotrO since release, Tho i will be looking at Archlord now. Becuase it's free (and im too poor to pay for lots of different rubbish games till ryzom comes back up)

1. The game is full of bugs, that have been there since beta?
2. The server population is decimated due to player dissatisfaction?
3. The item enhancement of the game is borked beyond all reason, making the failure rate abysmal?
4. The recent price hike of Chantra?
5. Death by lag is so commonplace that its possible to log in for a day and log out with less XP than you started?
6. Server downtime is unbelivable?
7. Worse dev communication than GF (yes seriously)?
8. Castle Sieges are such a lag fest, the battle may be over before you get there with the amazing walking through frozen treacle effect?
9. The Archlord character cannot leave the town as he is so weak and his guards are so weak, he can be pwnzored and lose his title in minutes, making the endgame of achieveing the title pointless?
10. All of the above?

Atm I resubbed to wow and am playing with my brothers,sister-in-law, friends of ours ,Braff,Mathea,Riveit & Doubletap
It's definately just a fill-in untill age of conan! Really looking forward to that hopefully wont let me down.
And to be honest WoW isnt all that bad, but it wont ever fill ryzoms shoes!
Am getting addicted to these quests some are really fun to do and they have websites to help you out with them as well...for people like me who hate quests- I really am suprised!
So if any of you are interested in playing wow, you can find Bravy on the Alterec mountain(pvp) server - Horde side..There is a two week free trial and if you wanted to purchase it, I found it on sale for 19.97 at Walmart a package deal for the crusade also was liek 40 dollars vs 60.

Hey Brave, i miss you guys so much, i been slammed at work so this is so hard for me to try and start a new game, wish i could just log on to atys for a bit to hang out with everryone. if i have time this weekend i will go buy WoW just to pop in and hang out with you guys my dad has been playing it for a looooong time and has several maxxed out toons too so i can get a lil help from him getting started

I downloaded LOTRO and spent 3hrs...not one person spoke to me...I healed a player and he never even thanked me...thats the difference

I just been playing that and found a totally different reception (Brandywine server), higher level players offering teams to people to complete the last couple of quests in the tunnels and tomb. Pulling aggro off you if they see you in trouble. Healing you out of team.

I thought it was OK. Its only a new game, Ryzom didn't have this quality community that fast, it has taken time to build it up, LOTRO hopefully will do that too.
