It seems that there are a lot of people here for whom Ryzom is the first MMORPG that they have found exciting. I would add myself to that number. The sense that something interesting and new was around any corner (even if it turned out to be a Kincher), the open-ness of the community, the common use of skills and supplies to aid people that you didn't even know (rez, armor, weapon, cats).

But mostly it was Atys herself that lured me in. She is a world with seasons that are not just a layer of paint, has bugs and beasts and birds that are natural parts of the landscape and have their own seasons. (There's a brown worm that dives in the sands of Dyron in the summer and fall, and a funky blue (bird?) that climbs out of the sands and flies off that seems to be common to many of the lands.)

I liked the factions, and the fact that you didn't *have* to play that part of the game, and that your race did not determine your faction. I liked the fact that "good" and "evil" were defined by the players, not the game.

I like solitude, and I can have it on Atys. I like cities from time to time, and I had them on Atys without having my game lagged out by the number of people online. I tried WoW. It didn't work for me. What I want is something similar to Atys/Ryzom.

NO, I take that back. I want Atys.
