GF France went bankrupt, but tbh this was an expected move from GF - and GF Germany is up and alive.

With all due respect.... Expected move? when? when they said they were buying a whole company? when they took 21 employees from the liquidator? when they stated their commitment to Ryzom? or was it an expected move when they stopped all announcements for weeks past the "oh, happy birthday"?. During Phelan dev chat? Feel free to answer with brutal honesty it's something we rarely see.

Expected move, I don't know. I am not sure what to think regarding Gameforge (original and current) plans for Ryzom, their intentions w.r.t. GF France (ex Nevrax) and their clear lack of marketing etc. Expected move? so basically, are you implying that the expected move is to create a company of capital 25000 Euros, let it stagnate, abide by French laws and then?

Expected move when it was stated that the billing thing was a "weekend glitch"? oh, let me guess... it is all part of a great new future for Ryzom, where GF Gmbh, once free from the chains of slavery and past creditors, old legacy and restraining constraints, sails new sees to jointly construct the future and to meet the potential of this game, developed, managed and operated by GF germany? or was it just a great chance to get a full MMRPG for a bargain while avoiding it to go GPL?

I wish we had comm from GF Gmbh. For GF France, it's liquidation (liquidation judiciaire) which seems past chapter 11 (redressement judiciaire) implying cease of activities and usually no buyers. It could be said that, from a players perspective, the game can still be operated from Germany. We can only hope for a clear-announcement from Gameforge Gmbh. There is still some hope, but... as of today Ryzom is not profitable, and it needs investment to become (if this is still doable). I am afraid this will not be the case. A "Free2Play" game, with little to no development and enough income to cover for hosting costs ?

I'll tell what is gonna happen:

GF,as a company, has loss on its France Delegation, so its probably two ways:

GF Germany gonna inject some cash into GF France and all this mess will be okay (temporaly but i hope forever)
GF Germany thinks about the loss and close GF France, end of problems... or not? do you remember that campaign called "Free Ryzom!"? Maybe the key is in our hands.

if your talking about the effort to get Ryzom Gpled yes. main problem is you need a trusted escrow service, i dont know of one that exists for situations like pledges.
