What it's like...
I'm downloading the trial right now, I'm very interested. I don't know if any of you played Dransik, or Runescape (In the begining), but I really liked the experiences I had with those games; the freedom. I liked not being forced to quest and then move onto the next area. Is Ryzom like that?

Absolutely.I liked not being forced to quest and then move onto the next area. Is Ryzom like that?

Silan's missions/"quests" are just tutorials - there's nothing like them on the mainland.
Welcome.

Sorry, I didn't really introduce myself, and thanks for the welcome. I will be in game soon, since my download just finished.

By the way, you should absolutley do most of the quest/mission on Silan (the starter isle) because they will teach you a lot of things about ryzom.

Welcome to the Giant RootBall! As gix74 said, you should at least do the quests on Silan to help get a feel for the game. They give a good explanation of some of the difficult aspects of the game. (though they arent perfect) If you have any questions, dont be afraid to ask in Universe chat. That is what it is there for.

I'm happy to see all these newcomers ... I am new to this game and I'm really glad to know that The Ruins of Silan are going to be populated by new refugees
Wellcome.

Wellcome.
Re: What it's like...
I have also recently started playing. This game is breathtaking. I am only on the freebie island right now, but I plan on becoming a paying player once I hit the level cap.
