Rescue the Captive from the Slavers [Player-run event]

Post by riveit »

Please come help us rescue a hominette (Zoine) captured by Slavers on Saturday the 15th at 7:00 pm GMT / 3:00 pm EDT. It will be a race to save Zoine (the Captive) from their foul clutches and return her to her sweetheart. Already rescue teams are forming to save her. All Teams must meet in Bounty Beach at the Fount Portal for instructions.

/OOC: Game Details:

Game Concept:

Rescue teams must search, locate and rescue the Captive from the Slavers. After all the Slavers are eliminated the Captive will cry HELP! Indicating that she is open to team invite. She will accept the first invitation sent. She will then say the name of the “Rescue Team” that has her. Once the bride has been teamed the “Rescue Team” run to a Ranger station in the Gate of Obscurity and then a second Ranger station in Elusive Forest. The Captive must visit the Ranger Stations. Then the Rescue Team must take her to her sweetheart waiting at the Windy Gate portal to Scorched Corridor. Other teams are encouraged to try and steal the Captive from each other. Prizes will be awarded to Teams for four accomplishments: the Team that eliminates the Slavers, the Team that brings the Captive to two Ranger Stations, and the Team that brings the Captive to the finish line at the Portal to Scorched Corridor.

Starting Point:

All teams will meet at the Bounty Beach portal to the Fount. Meet Riveit there to make sure your team is registered and named. The search will start when Riveit shouts FIND HER!

The Rules:

1. Only 5 members or less members per rescue team

2. Team makeup - Multiple guilds and unguilded homins may form teams. However, because of GvG zone rules forbid guildmates from attacking each other, all members of a participating guild must be on one team. If guildmates wish to join the event on different teams, some of them must temporarily drop guild to play.

3. Each team must be out for itself. Once the Captive is rescued from the kidnappers, interteam cooperation or team alliances are not allowed.

4. The Captive is not a target and must be kept alive at all times; anyone who kills the Captive will disqualify their team.

5. The Captive will not assist Rescue Team in any way other than following them to the finish line.

6. Only when Rescue Team is completely killed can the Captive leave the Rescue Team. If a Rescue Team abandons the Captive – no alive members within 50 m for 1 minute - then the Captive will yell HELP! for a new team. If the Captive is killed by aggro, then just please rez her.

7. The Captive will announce that she is open for team invite by shouting HELP!. She will the team whose team leader is within 50m and eyeballing her and which has sent an invite.

8. Once the Captive excepts an invite, she will remain in place until the team leader arrives to escort her. The bride follows the team leader.

9. The Captive must visit the two Ranger stations on the path in the correct order. She must visit the first one in GoO (just north of the Chlorogoos camp) and then the second one in EF (north of the Kitin Gatherers). Then she will head to the finish line at Windy Gate portal to Scorched corridor. Note that only the Captive must visit the Ranger checkpoints - not the teams.

10. Once Riveit starts the search by shouting FIND HER! All teleports and spawns will be allowed except for the Windy Gate and Scorched Corridor teleports and the spawn points at the Windy Gate/Scorched Corridor border.

11. Anyone breaking these rules will disqualify their team.

Disclaimer: This rescue will be carried out in dangerous aggro-filled regions. Teams will encounter many foul kinchers, varinyx and worse! Please let's not deliberately aggro-drag and please teams agree not to make accusations or arguments about aggro-dragging after the event.

-------------------------------------------

There is the game! I am still organizing it. I need volunteers to help me run it! I still need volunteer Slavers (a few already have volunteered). The Slaver team can join the remainder of the event as a Rescue team after they are defeated. Prize donations are also appreciated. I have some donations pledged already. Please contact me if you are interested in helping.

Rescue teams can start signing up now.

Thank you and good luck Rescue teams. :)

quote from jared96
"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."

7. The Captive will join the first invite sent after announcing that she is open for team invite by shouting HELP!.
this caused some problems last time i joined a similar event. because the bride joined the first invite it wasn't the team that had found her but a team that was far away and hadn't found her yet.
maybe the teamleader should stand in front of her and eyeing her befor she joins?
[edit] ok your rule 8 is a way to do it too.

does the captive have to visite checkpoints so that more ambushes are possible? ambushes were the most fun last time, except the one after the gate from nexus :p i could imagine that most teams will port to EF and wait near finish line for her, while the escort team has to do an ordinary trek up PR till the gate

We could change it to the Captive joins the closest team with the teamleader eyeing her within 20 m.

We are starting to get more prizes pledged and delivered. Aeden Artisans is putting up 25 stacks of cats. Elders of Atys has donated a piece of q250 vedice for Prize I. Arcueid has donated 4 stacks of q250 cats and 2 supreme amps.

if thats the case, no one could bring low level players. since if your going 5vs5 and the other 5 are all maxed out you cant afford to have a 150 level player.
