so im going to contact accel most likely hit one of their low level guys at first. try to find someone who plays mmorpgs heh. shouldnt be hard as they are in silicon valley. from there move up to someone with power. who knows might have to bribe someone with a self made ryzom cd and a free month of sub.
so the big question in my mind right now is pretty simple, whats the business case for ryzom? why should money be invested towards it?
im going to be calling accel....
im going to be calling accel....
quote from jared96
"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."

Not sure how business-relevant this is, but Ryzom is truly unique. It has a bunch of features that are simply non-existent throughout the rest of the western MMORPG market. Like editing actions, the Ring, the lore/setting/theme/races, the best crafting system...I'm sure you and others can think of more. The skill system, though rare, is not unique.

Anyway... i came back for a reason....
Find me a decent MMORPG where you can by ANYTHING on single Char, and jump around whenever you like?
EQ2, WoW, GW's - pick a class and stick with it

FFXI. Great game but huge timesink to do anything. Makes it really hard to play with friends once the level threshold has been broken (about a 3 level threshold before xp takes a huge hit for the LOWER, not higher, level. Add in 75 levels altogether and you have one hell of a problem grouping with your veteran friends)

And the most convoluted launcher, billing system, and in-game interface ever.wakatack69 wrote:FFXI. Great game but huge timesink to do anything. Two others are Wurm Online and Horizons: Empire of Istaria (in a way - you can switch classes, be in multiple classes at once, unlock higher classes by advancing in one or more basic classes, etc).

Its only really good on a console or usb ps2 style controller. Otherwise playing on keyboard is somewhat (very) rough. Billing system is ruthless or they used to be. Lost my password one time and they had no option at all to find it (like giving your billing info or something) and told me i'd have to buy a new account at retail price. If you can make the game work for you, it has some potential to be fun. Otherwise I personally find it more of a hassel then entertaining. Then I found the world of Atys and am kicking myself for not finding it sooner.
