I wonder how much lore Aniro has gotten that we haven't...
A lot more probably....they have a much more active events team than us, that is also very open to players ideas (as an example, they use the different dialects that the players invented.)
EDIT: true, some of it could be made up as acridiel pointed out...
EDIT2 : This is the page about Daeronn
DAERONN
Summary
· Still alive
· Contemporary Fyros Scientist.
His life
· Researcher known for the study of atysian fauna. He is particularly interested in the Kitins.
· Studied the Desertstock kitin nest for 2 weeks. He used to eat local plants to survive.
Freed from the nest by Dilus and ten other homins.
· Studied the amber cube found by Supplice in zoraï land. He managed to decypher the contents and realised that the cube had been in the jungle for a very small amount of time.
Facts about Daeronn
· Respected scholar.
· Is off-hand with events surrounding him. Often absorbed in scientific theories day by day.
· Interested in any living thing.
· Always goes off-topic
Results of his research on kitins.
kitins hibernate in winter. During this season they go back in the primary roots. Of course, depending on the type of kitin their organization can vary. But in general, kitins hibernate in winter. Patrols and scouts guard the nests. These nests are difficult to find for they are usually camouflaged. Normaly, kitins never invade or attack during winter season unless disturbed.
In spring kitins finish their hibernation. Not only are they starving but they also seek to procreate. The males fight each other and try to get enough fame to be allowed to reproduce. New groups form and hordes of kitins migrate to establish new nests. Hungry as they are during spring season, kitins are very agressive and can quickly invade lands to hunt and forage food.
In summer, kitins are not very dangerous (Note from meloner : My a*se they are !), for food is usually abundant and the risks of an invation are slim. Unless they feel threatened.
In automne, they store food and prepare for the winter. They hunt et forage huge quantities of ressources. They generally become violent in order to obtain the lands where they find their food. They gather the ressources while guards protect the land. Then they organise convoys to bring the food to the nests. These convoys are of course well protected.
And this is the interview of Ardan Keale in the Atys Chronicles.
Ardan Keale
Summary
· Contemporary tryker scientist.
His life
· Entomologist(note from meloner : a scientist that studies insects) known for his research of atysian fauna. He is particularly interested in Kitins.
· Seems to work with the Atys Rangers.
His interview in the Chronicles
After certain rumours concerning kitin activity, we have met a scientist from the lakes, specialised in insects, who has studied these creatures for years. He invited us in his underwater home in Windermeer.
Thank you for recieving us, master Keale. We know you are very busy.
I indeed have a lot of work but when it comes to enlightening homin spirits I try to be available. I recieved this morning an interesting specimen of air woodland hymenoptera (note from meloner : forgive me for that very poor translation indeed o.0) sent to me by a colleague from Magestic garden and I cannot wait to examine it.
· What does it look like ?
It’s a flying insect found in the forests, better known as the buzzing sower (note from meloner : /clueless). It is easily recognisable by it’s ringed yellow and brown body and it’s green translucent wings. It has the surprising ability to make the pollen it gathers glow. Did you know this pollen was used by master lamp makers of old ?
· As a matter of fact, no. You have a remarkable collection of insects on your walls. As if all Atys was exposed under our eyes.
I prefer to look at living insects. I hate killing these magnificent creatures. They are so perfect ! I sometimes manage to recover the bodies of certain specimens in good condition. With the passing of years, I have gathered this collection. But the lucilions ballet is a spectacle you cannot contain in an amber cube.
· Let’s go straight to the point. We are concerned with the kitin activity these days. Could you alleviate our fears ?
Ah, the kitins ! The mightiest of all insects. And that’s not just the body I am talking about. Their intelligence and social conscience could even overcome that of some homins. They are our enemies and I am afraid I cannot dissipate your fears.
· Are you saying that kitins could become superior to homins ?
Different beings, not necessarily superior. There are many types of kitin and most of them seem at first glance to have a purely instinctive behavior. But the kitins are more than just animals. The sovereigns that lead them have plans for us, you can be sure of that.
· That is not reassuring… Who are these sovereigns that you mention ?
The kitins are organised in swarms and colonies. According to my research these groups develop under the commandment of superior individuals belonging to a distinct species known as kizarak. The kizaraks are what we’d call the generals of the kitins Only a few have been spotted on the new lands.Empereur Dyron nearly got killed by one of them during the battle of the Knot of Dementia. But the kizaraks are not the chiefs of the kitin colonies. The supreme sovereigns are the queens, the mothers of all kitins.
· Queens ? And they give birth to all kitin ?
Yes they are the founders of the colonies. To my knowledge, no queen has been seen for 50 years on the new lands. I have had the immense privilege of studying one for only a few minutes...And still be alive to testify.
· How did you do that ?
I was helped by a few friends who developped a special technique to approach kitins. We exchanged our knowledge of the creatures and it’s thanks to them that I made a few interesting discoveries. For example, I noted that there are 4 types of kitin eggs, and the larvae’s diet is crucial to determine the social role of the future members of a colony.
· Who are these mysterious friends you mention ?
All I can reveal is that they are members of the Atys Rangers. Discretion was until now essential in their ranks, but with the growing threat of the kitins of the old lands, the rangers have decided to show themselves.
· Are you in contact with the famous Daeronn, the fyros scientist who emited numerous theories concerning the kitins ? He has discovered a lot of things concerning the influence of the seasons...
I do not work with Daeronn and I disagree with him on a lot of things. According to my own observations the kitins have adapted to the life on the Bark for decades. Let us not forget they come from the depths of Atys’s roots and the behavior of the swarms is barely influenced by the seasons. Daeronn founded his theories on studies lead by the Force of Fraternity at the end of the XXVe century, a time where the kitin workers seemed to withdraw themselves for the winter. The kitins have since then evolved, and like all homins, gather ressources during the cold seasons. As for Daeronn’s assumptions concerning the reproduction of kitins in spring, they are in complete contradiction with the existence of the queens. I imagine Daeronn denies their existence. He certainly never met one at the bottom of a kitin nest !
· An inalterable hatred exists between kitins and homins, how do you explain that ?
The Karavan assures that the kitins are the children of the Dragon of the myth, born after the green seeding. And their hatred is the fruit of the Beast’s anger that flows in all their being. I have found no other explanation…But I think it will be difficult, impossible even, to live in harmony with the kitins on Atys. Unless they are but a stage to some sort of supreme being capable of transcending the Dragon’s fury…
· Thank you for answering our questions, master Keale. One last thing to say to our readers ?
I advise them as I do you, to observe all these little creatures moving around on the Bark, so as to draw their own conclusions and for many, lessons about the life on Atys. Few homins know how much wisdom the flight of the helicans can bring.
