I feel like I'm being cheated...

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

Las Vegas, how often do you hear of somone cracking THE Jackpot at any Casino there?
And how often do you hear anyone complain that he didn´t win anything, after visiting Las Vegas?
Or demanding that the odds on the Machines should be changed?
Or that Black-Jack or Roulette should be made "fairer"?
At Las Vegas you know that there is a chance, however small.
That's all I'm asking here - I want to know whether it's still possible to win the grand prizes at all. I didn't ask to make it easy.

i never have - and likely never will - bother with these things :D

i think its rubbish idea for content and a silly way to make dapper sink.

your being cheated just for having to spend all your time pressing buttons at a wheel - soaking up your money - and getting crap prizes in return :p

'grand prizes'? pfft

People still go to Las Vegas because it's an experience. Well, some are just addicted to gambling. But normal, well-adjusted people will happily throw their money away in a house-loaded game because it's fun to play and often comes with free drinks.

Playing the Ryzom Wheel is amazingly boring. There's no game, no fun, no free drinks, not even a shiny little animation to amuse those of us with tiny attention spans. Just clicking...
clicking...
clicking...
clicking...
...
...
...
... bwah? What was I talking about? Oh, right, the clicking. Yeah, it gets kind of really not at all fun, very quickly. The point of the wheel is to eat dappers, so let it eat dappers more efficiently. Click it once, give it all your tokens, and have it report your winnings. If it didn't involve a boring hour of zombie clicking I'd be tempted to drop a million dappers here and there in hopes of getting a shiny; as it is, I think my patience since the wheels were installed has run only to a couple hundred thousand, and it netted me nothing worth winning.

Which brings up the real kick-in-the-Shookis, that most of the prizes aren't worth winning at all. The flowers aren't worth the space they take in your bag, and the cats (low-quality ones, at that) are worth so much less than the time it takes to win them that I can't even come up with a good dramatic analogy for it. What prizes do people actually want? Dolls, costume items, fireworks! These aren't items that affect gameplay; they have no practical application in the game world, yet they're the only reason people play the wheel at all. Why? They're new, unique visual content, something which Ryzom has had precious little of lately. Please, throw out the crap prizes altogether and give us more shinies! Follow the example of IRL prize-dispensing arcade games everywhere: give out a lot of small prizes (like small, less-impressive fireworks) and sucker players on with rare impressive prizes (like big fireworks, uniquely colored fireworks, Yubos). That way even the plebs who count their change to buy TPs can get some little trinkets and there's still the lure of rare PHAT LEWTZ for the idle rich.

But seriously, while I might possibly be coerced into blowing a few million dappers on a shot at a Yubo doll, there's nothing you could put in the jackpot that would we worth an hour of mindless clicking. I mean, DAY-um.

Makes a lot more sense :)

qfe \o/ especially for the costume items (as long of course as they are ryzom-ish). Make the consumables the common(ish) prizes (such as fireworks) and the other goodies (yubo teddy, costumes etc) the rare ones.

Be able to gamble 1000 tokens at a time, be able to win points which can be redeemed at a similar type of thing at the faction points from the old land....
