Be happy you can edit the zoom now, it may not be allowed but it can be done. GF could make it so there is no way to change this and then everyone would have the same zoom, this way it would be far for everyone.

but then, once you've zoomed out alllllll that way with the mouse wheel, which would take forever, you then have to zoom alllll the way back in with the mouse wheel. by that time the player has either ran off, or you've been killed and the camera is facing the floor

The rate of zoom (zoom chnage per mouse wheel click) is editable via the config file too

Easy:

X = what you want to dig
Y = where you want to dig
Z = when you want to dig

X+Y+Z = Wrong weather!

i would like it only because it would make targeting a bit easier but it also would make other things easier and that is not good.
To be honest i would like a patch that makes it impossible to do, altering the config file is an exploit that should be addressed by the devs.
