hello!

Post by quirks »

hello :)

heard great things about this game, and its community and decided to give it a go.

im a 30something gamer, love my mmo's and try to have fun delving into all aspects of the games i play, and of course the social side of things.

im really looking forward to playing this, and having some fun.

can anyone spare a few moments to break down the main differences in race for me? the webbie's description goes into great detail of each, but the more i read the more i like them all lol.

thanks a lot for any advice anyone would care to give, and look forward to seeing some of you in game :)

ta,

Welcome :)

there is almost no mechanical difference between the races, so what does come through is a difference in attitude

http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23992 explains everything I think, but here is my personal opinion - which I am happy to share with everyone ;)

Trykers - 'child-like' extroverted attention seeking, life of the party

Fyros - competitve, wanting to be the best

Matis - perfectionist, arrogant

Zoraï - self contained, prone to cultism

this is a drastic oversimplification, and there is nothing that makes you have to act in a specific way. There are shy Trykers and meek Fyros, humble Matis and Zoraï thugs (but the Thuggee were a cult anyway :p )
These attitude traits can manifest in a positive or negative way - depending on how much coffee you have had as much as anything else.

Matis perfectionism clashes with Fyros competitiveness, with both trying to ignore the Tryker running around screaming "ME ME ME ME" and the Zoraï off doing something of their own
