I love the game, the world, the leveling and crafting systems, the graphics animations
the community is fantastic, the beginner island is great, even help on the island is great.
But what is really getting to me, what is causing me more problems then anything, what could possbily push me away from this game.....
endless tells to join guilds.... for the most part they are not bad, but some are just rude and pushy and the # of tells is really ruining the experiece of this beautiful world for me..
Please i understand that you are just trying to help or at most increase # of persons that your guild has i have np with that and understand, and i am not trying to upset or anger anyone
4 tells at a time gives me a please wait from hell lol
please all i ask is if you see someone new from the island, dont jump all overthem like there new meat, and dont send tells, just introduce yourselves in area and see where things go
all the best to everyone
Peace

Re: Guild Offers
Sounds like another good reason to make invites optional.

Re: Guild Offers
I always thought it would be best to make it not possible to give guild invites on the new player island. Let the new player get use to the game and they can pick a guild to join when they get to the main land.
Sorry all the guild invites are causing you trouble neuralblaze.

Re: Guild Offers
Yeah, I´m sorry too.
But Blaze, remember, those who offer you to join their guild, without you even knowing them, or them knowing you, do not in the slightest deserve even an ounce of your attention.
Those who define their guilds just by how many members they consit of and do not care for getting to know each other before even thinking of inviting someone, are for the most part those who won´t help you in any way.
Its almost for sure that you will be just one in many in such a guild.
You will be on your own, despite the guild tag over yout head.
HO´s and Guild Chiefs will most probably take all adavantages for themselves and won´t give a damn about you, once you´ve joined.
Sorry to sound rude, but in my experience that´s just how it is with those "vacuuming" guilds.
They suck.
Join a guild that you get to know, join a guild that cares and that you can care for. One that gives you what a guild is supposed to give.
Friendship and fun.
The ignore List is InGame for a reason y´know.

Re: Guild Offers
Hello,
I understand your problem and developers should do something to add some settings to avoid that kind of spam.
Consider that most of Guilds are not recruiting directly in Silan, but wait that newbies find their path on mainland.
My guild use only to welcome newbies in Silan (we have an Ambassador there) without recruiting, but just showing our happiness for the new refugee coming and offering only some help if requested.
As you know, always there is the good and the bad, just use the ignore list feature and be patience.
Welcome to Atys

Spend some time in game DT and look at who is doing mass recruiting and where before you start spewing accusations....vguerin wrote:This reeks of an alt with an agenda to defame someone, yours ?

Dear Overwhelmed,
I know people who for various reasons don't want invites sometimes make their own solo guild. Maybe it could work for you as well? It's a 100.000 dappers solution though.

Re: Guild Offers
I have seen this happen so many times the past year. Don't know what can alter it. Perhaps the few who decide to get to know a group or a guild before accepting an invite, will find it better in the long run.
There is invitably a logarithmic effect in play here. The big guilds have more often than not some members online, and take the opportunity for approaching new players. Small guilds find they meet the new player to late to be an option.
Perhaps the small guilds wish to see a player settle in before proposing an invite. They might even have a policy where the new player has to spend some time with them before making such an approach.
I guess you see what I am getting at...
Bottom line is, I don't know what can alter this experience for the new players
