Can there be something done about items we see in the shops where somehow, players managed to sell them to the NPC at hudge prices. I mean I have seen lvl 10 to 50 items (materials, armor, weapons, ...) at prices over 400,000 !!!
I know I had mentioned this in a previous post done 2-3 months ago and I was told that its probably a mean of the player to keep his items in storage. But somehow, I do not believe this. Why put low quality level items in storage at so hudge prices ? I sometimes find myself with list of items to buy that match my desired quality but the only ones available are at over 100K. Could it be somehow an exploit ?
I am guessing they were done with raising the % resale to 999% or such. If not, how and why is it possible in the first place ?
Can something be done against this like :
- adding in a future patch a limit on the % to 200% max or similar.
- have an automatic cleanup on items to be sold which are like 10 times or more the actual value they are supposed to be for their average quality level.
- have someone or CSRs visit shops and remove those items

Ppl have always used max markup to store on merchants. I suspect ppl will continue to do this until.Either thay increase ingame storage or charge ppl a fee relative to the cost of retrieving their goods. If they charged a 10% transaction fee on retrieval of goods few would pay 40K to retrieve Q50 mats stored at 400K.-Kil
Re: Shops with low level items but at $$$,$$$ !
The player makes no additional dappers over tha default amount, UNLESS someone double-clicks and has enough dapper. "Let the buyer beware", working as intended (for temp storage and semi-permanent storage for some who micro) so far unfortunately... though I admit I have used it as temporary storage, I do not like it. IG storage is horrid, so few make noise over this...

Most likely its one of two scenarios.
1) the player is a absolute noob and thinks his 67/67 amps (for example) are actualy worth that much.
-or-
2) The player meant to sell to NPC and the pesky shift key wasn't pressed when he was power selling his wares.
The ability to markup to 9999% and store items on the merchants is considered by some to be an exploit- but it is clearly addressed in a old news or Q&A article. It is not an exploit.
Maybe someday they'll change it who knows? But you know what? Even at 9999% markup if you put an item on the merchants and someone wants that last level in craft or needs the mats to finish a special set of armor it will be bought.
Hell I've had people buy stacks of q200 mats priced at 9999% and I've bought sup 250-270 mats that someone was silly enough to leave on the merchants. Markup does not equal safe storage, and until you've experienced the huge money making potential of high level dig and craft you can't begin to understand why limiting the markup is just silly.
In order for such an adjustment to be made the entire economy needs to be reworked, and thats a pretty daunting task since speaking just from my experience even a small guild can easily raise over a half billion in a short time. The older guilds with more active players and crafters probably have war coffers of multi Billions of dappers. Adjustments of the economy would have to be global and fair. A simple devaluation would unfairly penalize those that have earned these billions of (relatively) useless dappers. *shrugs* just my 2 cents on the economy, I'm sure many players that have been around longer than me will agree...

True. But tbh I'd pay a nice storage fee and i'm not averse to one being implemeted. The wheel didnt turn out to be much of a dapper sink since it only ate maybe 20 million before it lost its appeal lol!killgore wrote:Ppl have always used max markup to store on merchants. Re: Shops with low level items but at $$$,$$$ !
Some folk sell stuff that isn't so great for high prices...say, mid to low range excellent gear that a lot of people make for free if you ask nicely gets sold for many dappers on merch (when I say many, I mean in terms of new players). I find that unless you know who to ask or are already acquainted with crafters, is pretty hard to find what you want on merch
Meanwhile -- storage problems...I'd happily pay dappers to 'rent' more storage in game (I don't mean RL money, just charge my toon depending on how long mats are stored for or something). As it is, unless I mess around with the alt-guildhall, I don't have enough space to get craft mats and keep a small store of sups and exc for safekeeping :/
Anyways, my two cents..

Re: Shops with low level items but at $$$,$$$ !
i believe master Doubletap explained it well.. if the storage system was a little smoother, almost no one would use the merchants to store items unless it was to take from point A to B (selling at watchers camp to pick up in pyr later)
as it is not many complain - for this reason i think
if you need anything try using the bazaar on the forums. i have a guild of two people who refuse free gifts, so i craft (or obtain) anything they need and sell it to em at reasonable prices. always willing to do the same for whoever needs it

theres no point in complaining (like talking to a wall), devs not gonna change it. vendors were for buying/selling stuff. now they free storage. yay.kuroari wrote:as it is not many complain - for this reason i think
Re: Shops with low level items but at $$$,$$$ !
The maximum multiplier for price is 9999%, applied to a game mechanics base price derived from quality and level, so the possible maximum price is one hundred and one times the base price. This is a valid price multiple for some items, although if it is on an inappropriate item it is probably because the 'seller' doesnt actually want anyone else to buy it.browserice wrote:Can there be something done about items we see in the shops where somehow, players managed to sell them to the NPC at hudge prices. If you dont want to see the stuff which isnt really for sale, then dont panic.
A fix already exists ingame
Its the filters you have available when you visit merchants. Set it to exclude items above the prices you consider reasonable, check or uncheck the box to remember or reset filters (cant remember which it does ), and you no longer have a problem, and no one else has a problem, and the CSRs dont have to visit the shops, and a probably bug ridden patch does not need to be written and implemented.
Problem Solved.
Re: Shops with low level items but at $$$,$$$ !
Filters are good
Calling for a nerf because you don't use an in game tool is bad
