I love the idea of Silan events..not only is it fun for newbies or for seasoned players to log their Silan alt in for, but also it makes a little more even playing field!
ANd think of all the trial players that are just checking it out...they get to log on and see one of the player made events first hand!

Yeah, I totally understand. However, if you can't use magic, then it gives the primary melees a HUGE advantage, yeah?

Hello Hello... For that specific challenge it is melee use only. Now if you look at challenge 1 you will notice you have to heal someone..woot, some magic. Also, challenge 3 mentions mats quartered and dug.. woo, requires more killing by melee or magic.. and foraging too!!

The Ranger Day is set-up to test all aspects of your training.

I woke up this morning and walked outside to greet the day and what did I find!! Seems someone left a large bag full of dappers at my doorstep. I guess since the wheel is down for repairs they needed something to do with them.

Dapper prize rewards have been increased.

What a great day today was for Ranger Day 2007.
First challenge was the close combat event.

Duel #1: Genozid vs. Harah - Genozid wins what seemed to be a very very close match-up

Duel #2: Beaugh(Beau) vs. Fenrish - Beau wins, not intimidated by his challenger only wishing to use 1 dagger.

Duel #3: Genozid vs. Manard - Manard who seemed to be made of stone won this round.

Final Duel : Manard vs. Beaugh - During intros Manard realized that he was competing against Mr. Ryzom Podcast Beau. Beau, who's heart was racing, attacked like a rabid dog but in the end Manard came out the victor.

First Place: Manard
Second Place: Beau
Third Place: Genozid

Challenge #2 was the Supplies for Rangers (scavenger hunt):

Seems the Ranger Supply Officer played a cruel joke on these young rangers by coming up with a daunting list of items. Here was the list of items needed:

2 pair of Q20 fine LA boots
2 yelk mushrooms
2 plain dead leaves
2 gingo fangs
1 fine cray secretion
4 torbak fangs
2 kipesta wings
2 ocyx bones

No items were to be purchased so the rangers had to kill, dig, and craft for a win.

teams were:
Beau and Manard
Sanseiu and Anaura
Harah and Sherkalyn
Genozid and Nauplius

After a what seemed hours (hehe) the win went to Sanseiu and Anaura!!

The last challenge was Search for the Lost Ranger (Homin Hunt):

After listening intently to pull all possible info from the clues given: Manard, Anaura, Harah, Sherkalyn, Genozid, and Nauplius all took off in a flash to search the Island high and low for our lost ranger. When further information came in about a sighting of the lost ranger by the Kami of the Lake the search tightened and efforts doubled. Not long after our Ranger was found and rescued by Genozid. As was said by Harah, "I KNEW he was in Things That Can Kill Me Land!"

Lastly, we assembled all the remaining competitors to thank them all for a job well done and to crown our overall winner. With a 3rd place finish in close combat challenge and winner of lost ranger challenge we proudly announced the overall winner: Genozid

A big round of applause to all the competitors: Beau, Genozid, Harah, Anaura, Manard, Nauplius, Sherkalyn, and Sanseiu.

All I can say is that I haven't had that much fun in game for a long time, and I'm almost ALWAYS having fun, so that says ALOT!
More events, please! And I'll do my part to bring more Homins along!
