Player V Player...

Ok it occured to me that PvP isnt that big of a thing in Ryzom... which is all well and good but... after a while, people want to fight... alot...

I myself strive on the fact that i know if i fight someone i can win, and i allways aim for being the best...

Now then onto why i posted.

Ryzom has less, or lack of somewhat PvP rules... you have to ask someone to fight... so... what i was thinking was.

If a new land/continent was added which gave very valuable rare drops... but... theres a twist... you can get attacked by ANYONE and EVERYONE on this continent, its lawless and no-one will attack you for killing anyone...

Now then, this continent would need its own towns and if people on this continent kill enough people they become 'Outlaws' and their home becomes 'This continent' meaning, they need to do quests to make their 'outlaw' status revoked or they need to kill enough 'mobs' to gain favour with the other continents again...

This would require a fair amount of work for the Devs... but mi sure the benefits would be endless...

Oh and also can Mages have a 'teleport' spell? Please...

Yeah PvP.
Ryzom is great. But I already started to think what do I gonna do after some more leveling? What will be the purpose to login to Ryzom?

Givf PvP. But make some sence to it and purpose.

The main problem with PvP is that there are always people who abuse it.

There are many people who pay money for a game like this to have honest play and fun. Like in Diablo II, it was a recurring problem (especially in Hardcore mode, in which you character would be lost completely when you die) that while you are playing along nicely someone (way higher lvl) suddenly goes hostile and kills you with one hit even before you could use a teleport or whatever.

And for the teleport spells, it would make the mage roll way too easy. Whenever the situation gets dire, you just teleport and escape the danger. Which would mean everyone would die in a regular manner, should it come to that, and get dp except the mages, who can always try to escape.

Even if you would throw in the argument of giving all classes the ability to teleport, it would still be too easy. What's the point of winning, if there is practically no way of losing? And besides the point of dying and all that, the teleport tickets are sufficient enough. What is the point of making a large and lush world, if you give people the ability to go anywhere at will?

I see where your coming from but as my post explained. PVP would only be enabled in a certain region on Ryzom, not everywhere... so it would be quite safe.

As for the teleport spell, there would ofcorse be a cap to it, ie: You can only wear light armour when you use the spell and it can only be used once every 300s... (5min)
