Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
Poor guy sounds like he's been reading the forums rather than playing the real game. Sad that they cheat like that.

Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
Do the reviewers even play these games?
"Ryzom was released earlier this year in Europe, so it's surprising that the game is still missing so many promised features."
It was released one week earlier than the US version, in late September.
"Ryzom's biggest problem is that there really isn't anything to do in the game other than work on improving character stats, and doing so is far more monotonous than engaging."
"You can't practically use the "take all" function when looting beasts because their hides ridiculously contain a whole range of pointless items that you can't sell or craft with, and that will quickly encumber your character."
I posted these together because it shows just how little this reviewer played the game. Those extra items are related to missions you take to improve fame with the various factions. For example you could get a mission to get some meat for a tribe.
"The animations are simplistic and choppy"
I'm not really sure what kind of computer he ran this on, but they are anything but simplistic and choppy.
Lastly the article links:
" Beta Client
This is a beta for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Saga of Ryzom. This will let you play the full game until September 14. To participate in the beta visit the sign up page at http://ryzom.com/subscribe/ (08/30/04)"
Which is a joke especially since the article is dated 10/26/

Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
Exactly Raynes. I got the exact same impression as you did. I rarely read gamespot anyway because the reviews are never fair or just but that just takes the cake in my opinion. Like I said earlier, he's been listening to the trolls on the forums, who also make it up as they go along for various reasons. (prolly didn't make it into wow or eq2 beta and taking it out on other people.)

Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
If game sites want to review a game and give it bad ratings that is fine. But when they do so based upon incorrect facts and publish with incorrect facts it's bad journalism. I wrote them a letter concerning this.
Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
Yeah, the sentence : "Ryzom was released earlier this year in Europe, so it's surprising that the game is still missing so many promised features." show they don't know anything about the game because Ryzom was released at the same time in Europe and in the USA.
Re: Ryzom review @ gamespot
Nope not true, Ryzom has it's problems but when a review is done that blatantly lies about aspects of the game, that is not good. Trolling is also not good, especially if you haven't played it and it's obvious you haven't or you would realise what we meant.Unregistered wrote:First IGN is a pile of crap, then GAMESPOT is a pile of crap. HAHAHAHA so basically any site with a bad review of Ryzom is crap and any site with a good review of Ryzom is awesome.......seriously the game is not that great.
