Is everyone on holiday?

Just thought I would post and ask a simple question - where is everyone and are you/they all on holiday?

After being on Atys a week now I have found that Ryzom is an excellent game and full of possibilites - story content and future content.

I have made some very good friends and have an amazing guild. I think the community in Ryzom is sound and I am very impressed by all the people I have met - it clearly is a community that cares about itself and each other.

But I encounter myself with the question I asked above - where is everyone? I know I have only been herea short while - but I have been on for many long hours - at many different times - anything from 6 am in the morning upto 6 am the next morning. Lots of these times I have just sat and waited to see other people - doing things around the house - watching a movie etc. and then returing and going for a run around many different locations in Matis and Fyros.

Are there more people in Tryker and Zoria?

I would like to stress that I am not complaing (the opposite - I love what I have found so far with Ryzom and I am pleased there is so much to do and see)- just curious as to where the peple are at.

Depends which areas of Fyros you've been to...

Pyr is quiet compared to the rest of it. The places to find people in Fyros are generally Dyron, Oflavak's Oasis (around the TP), Flaming Forest and Thesos, particularly OO and FF.

Ryzom has never been a game with a huge number of people like some other MMO or some free games; that may be one of the reason why ppl are so nice to each other.

On the other end, I have to agree that it seems a little bit quieter than usual lately, maybe holidays

I´m not from your Server, but I think every Server´s got the same "problem" for new Players.
They either get swept up in a guild and "taken away to other places" , or they get "stuck" at the low level areas, if they are more into soloing or just haven´t found a suitable guild for themselves yet.
Many new Players do get into guilds pretty fast and are then taken to their usual hangouts and levelspots, thus leaving the area around the capitals pretty much deserted, except for those folks who hang around the stables.
Atys is a huge world and there are many places to go and explore, on your own, or with your guild.
The population of Ryzom isn´t that large to beginn with and above described behaviour and lay of the land can make it seem even emptier, sadly.

But I´m pretty sure that a majority of us would not want to have the capitals teeming with n00bs (No offense intended) spoiled from being taken by the hand by Big Brother from Azeroth

P.S. Ah yes, and just for the record, in Germany we are two weeks into summerbreak right now. So many people from here who play on Arispotle might realy be on vacation.

Some people are in holliday tho, also outdoors activities during summer are more vivid, can't favorise MMO friends against RL friends ad infinitum

Ryzom got a lot more population during last months, but usually you don't find them in the big cities. You typically find them in digging/hunting areas, for trykers, go Fount, Loria, Enchnated Isle, sometimes Dew Drops, and do a ./who. Generally for higher levels go void, SC or GoC, it's most never empty.

Not a holiday for me, just work work and work. And oh yeh a new puppy with playdates and a lovely wife to hang with.
So lately I haven't been able to log in as much, but that will change soon enough. I will also bet that Shekry and his friends might be showing up soon enough, and everyone will crawl out of the woodwork to fight him! I know I'll be there!

My best bet is that there are roughly 400 active people on Arispotle, think thats ur problem.

I think that yeah, a lot of people are taking it easy this summer. Me, personally, I'm working more and more..RL is catching up with me...and some other things.

But, yeah, I've found that quite a few people are taking a break from Ryzom, or have some real life issues that are keeping them away.

*raises hand* I'm still here, just not much, getting my house moved away and a new one built soon(I hope) so been busy.

(Yes moved... House is "Pre-Civil war" so its historic so donating it to the town when we go for the new house
