New player says hello!

Hello fellow inhabitants of Atys! I am a new player of Ryzom as of three days, enjoying my exploration of Silan very much.

A few hours ago my trial account got too small for me, so I decided to go for a subscription. I very much look forward to continue explore this Land before heading off to new adventures in new areas of Atys.

I am actually returning to Atys, since I was part of the beta testing way back. Various things made it impossible for me to continue in release. But, this starting experience is very different from my memories of the beta days.

A newbie question to finish this post: When do you advise me to leave Silan? I've seen a variety of suggestions. My skills are in the upper 20s, with Armor Crafting and Offensive Magic being highest in early 30s.

Leave Silan when you feel like it. Maybe travel with a group of friends all together? Particularly if you're coming to Zora (that'll wake up the Zoraï sages). Levels aren't much of an issue but a few skills, like Range, are unavailable on Silan.

if you've explored all the silan map has to offer, done all the missions you were interested in doing, getting bored, then it's time to move on

You could come to the mainland straight from the word go and build from Zero there.

However you would be missing alot, the Silan missions give some background to what you will see and whats going on aswell as a Kickstart with xp and reward items you wont be getting on the Mainland.

Dunno how much you remember from beta but for most new players on their first Toons on Atys I would recommend completing all SIlan missions then get subbed and come over.

Last week you could do all of Chiang's missions before subscribing, but max level is back at 21 again since thursday so if you don't have a level 30 in magic or combat yet, you will need to subscribe in order to do the missions that require a level higher than 21 anyway.

I somehow hope that the "Two very cool summer weeks" come back again... to stay forever. *optimistic*

I'm now settled down in Zora. It is an amazing world, and I look forward to exploring it fully! I left Silan after successfully helping to kill the big, ugly Dominant Kirosta in the jungle.
