I do understand what Bis is saying, though. But I don't think it would get out of hand. And who knows, this for me is more of an experiment to see that if you let players free in a virtual world, will they form their own societies? What will they do?
I have been recieving some great ideas. It would be easy for me to set up a small forum to post on, and a small website containing information such as Homins job postings, job assignments, stuff like that. And by no means do I mean to be "in charge", I'm not an experienced roleplayer to the extent others are. So, we could nominate a board of Homins to make decisions, and to help organize events.
I'll get something together over the next few days! Thanks for all the ideas!

Re: A town of roleplay?
Here is a rough idea for a forum, I can set it up in a million different ways. If it does not work, or if players want to just post here, on the official forums, then let me know. Again, this is a temp. forum, and can be altered. (Also, I've allowed for siggy's and for avatars, and I believe for images in signatures. If not, I can fix that.)

Re: A town of roleplay?
In the original post by the OP it said permanent. As meaning to have the city actively filled with players...frakel wrote:(/ooc) No flame intended! But I really dont get your point great83. I have never heard anyone complain about what the Samsara did regarding to the pub nights in Thesos. Why would it bother you that a group of players take it upon them to bring more life to one of the cities in the game? Why do you think it will lessen your enjoyment of the game that other players convene regularly in Thesos? Ryzom is supposed to be a roleplay game, how can it bother you that people decide to meet for roleplay in Thesos?
Hmm i must admit you either are a ultra sensitive person or someone that lacks maturity to be provoked by my reply in any way. I wasnt rude in any way and even replied IC to the post to be nice(not something i do alot).frakel wrote: EDIT: He he, I must admit I actually got a little provoked by your statement. Do you suggest one of the small forrest towns be used for this, because not many people frequent them, and then you wont be bothered by people meeting to roleplay? Has it really come to this in the game that roleplayers have to go hiding in desolate places to no bother others? Nah... that cant be right. There ought to be plenty of room to us all on Atys - regardless of playstyle. Have a nice day

I currently role play ever time i log on to ryzom, do i follow some set of rules that are qyuite frankly are bull ****... no. Do i feel the need to have to be told okay you can roleplay here during these times... no. Do i care to roleplay with such people that do things... no. Do you wear your tagas a "role player" thinking it makes you better then others.. seems so. Do you like to classify people in small different demographics... very much so.
Please take some time and grow up and realize that not ever single person role plays the exact same. Take time to realize a heavy PvP player can role play as well, realize he/she can follow a very strong story (working on wirting it compltly out to share with others).
I do beleive the towns within the forest would be better suited for this, and wouldnt cause conflicts for other players. I am sure i am not the only person that like thesos exactly how it is and dont care to move to dyron or pyr. But i am most likely the only person that will state his view on this subject.
I think it is a good idea as well, but still dont think thesos is a great place for it.frakel wrote: EDIT2: But, yes, I think this is great idea Beau. I will try to incoporate it into an event Im planning on setting up later this summer. Ive sent you a pm about it. Cheers.
On a side note Frakel, people like you scare the living **** out of me... to be able to see things so black and white in the world is truly a flaw. People like you have cause more harm and damage to this world then any tyrant or dictator... i hope one day you can see the grey in the world and just not the black and white. Have a good day and may you have success in growing your mentality to a appropriate level of an adult.

Re: A town of roleplay?
Quick question for you, why does a avatar have to be happy in their story? My avatar Biskibis, is a anti social, cranky person. He is full of flaws and dont care to be around happy go lucky people cause they make him sick... Well if you give him enough stinga rum or maybe some najab skins he might be a bit joyful. But at end of the day when Biskibis lays down to rest (well usually when he passes out from his rum or exhaustion from battle) he is torrmeanted with nightmares of his own actions...When he is awake he is full of doubt about everything he does but he sees no other choice, he wishs that death may find him in battle for he may end his servitude that he feels like is owed to his brothers and sisters. How do you expect such a avatar to be happy when all he wants is peace and the only place he will find it is on the blade of another homin...meloner wrote:thesos would not ALWAYS be how you described, great83, if we'd organise RP days say twice a week for example. If you don't want to see Thesos animated and full of homin joy those days, I suggest you find smthg to do to stay away from the town...unless you feel like joining in ?![]()

Re: A town of roleplay?
@great83: Im sorry that Ive made such a bad impression on you. Really sorry actually! Please read my reply again - the smileys are there because the remarks where ment to be said with a smile. Ill admit that the word provoked might be misleading, but it was meant in a lighthearted manner. Also the questionmarks you find in my post is there because I was actually asking you about this - to try to better understand what you meant by your remarks.
I dont look down upon people because they dont play the game the way I do (or the way you think I do
) - and Ive never said anything along those lines!
My point was (and still is) that Atys is big enough to all of us whether we like to bash aggros, roast marshmellows, grind till we perish, immerse ourselves in roleplay (be it happy go lucky or tragic stories) or all of these. And thus all types of players should be welcome in Thesos as well.
What got to me was that I read your words like you didnt want to see roleplayers make events around Thesos. If I misread what you meant - which apparently I did - then i apologize. And Ill admit that I may got a little carried away.
But since I think you have misread my words as well, I would really appreciate if you removed some of those uggly things you call me in your post above. You may still call me sensitive
.
Have a nice day on Atys.

Re: A town of roleplay?
Well, in any ideas I came up with I knew that some people might have issues with it. Valid issues, too.
There is quite a divide in all communities, roleplayers, pvp'ers, "regular" players. My issue here is that the only realistic thing is to have assigned play sessions or it just will not get done. Us Homins love events, and for good reason! It gives you something solid to plan your day by, to look forward to.
So, I think a good idea would be to have two nights a week, one on the weekend and one during the week. Say, around noon (central time USA) so that its not too late or early for ever Homin. I, for example, would be working during the week one, but could easily make the weekend one.
Now, what would be the explanations for the meets? I say the Homins are coming in from long hunting sessions, or gathering, or we actually have convoys of Homins carrying goods to other cities. Can you imagine 30 of us with packers filing to another city? Even if the packers were empty..it would be so fun!
So, I'm voting for wednesday and saturday as the days. Again, just an idea!

Re: A town of roleplay?
And you know, a sidenote, Bis might be right bout some of the other cities. I got my alt to Thesos, and he's level 1, brand new off the island. BUT there aren't many mobs round that area that a level 1 can take down!
I will scout some other locations, but I still feel very strongly bout Thesos. It's so beautiful, and very open. And that BAR...wow!
