Yes we have seperate IP's, I suppose it might help to say it does this -only- when we try to play Ryzom together. We can play any other MMORPG (SecondLife, Lineage II, WoW, etc) with no problems.

And it will alternate from one pc to the other, for instance, today my husband has the 'good' connection, he has been playing for 3 hours with no problems, I have disconnected randomly from 1 hour to every 15 minutes. It does it at random times in the game, not when I do anything specific.

Last night was the opposite, I played for a long time with no problems at all and he would disconnect every 10-30 minutes.

Disabling the port forwarding doesn't make a difference, it did this before I port forwarded and tried the triggering as well. (it's what prompted me to try.)

Have you updated the firmware for your router? Your particular model router is known to be problematic and updating the firmware often fixes this problem as stated earlier in the thread.

Generally updating the firmware on a router is as easy as flashing the bios on your motherboard, just follow the manufacturers directions carefully and the upgraded firmware should sort your connectivity issue.

Yes I did try updating the firmware, but thats when the router started rebooting itself randomly. Unfortunately, with this particular router, Linksys does not offer an official firmware upgrade, as it's a 'vonage' router. So apparently the people at vonage have said it's supposed to update it's firmware automatically. But I have no way of knowing if it has. Other than the version of the firmware currently installed, (which doesn't tell me much) The options in the router configuration do specify to auto-update firmware when available.

I've only tried one unofficial firmware upgrade, and it only hurt matters.

The above link can explain how this router/firmware situation is with vonage and linksys... It does give some updates I did not try the spanish one, I tried one a bit further down the list. Do you suppose I should keep trying different ones? (I can always restore it to default settings if something gets borked too badly.)

My firmware is version 1.30.01 (not sure if it helps)

If anyone that is successfully using this router to play Ryzom could give a hand by letting us know what firmware version works with the vonage routers please feel free to post and help us out here :)

I have no idea if this will have any relevance to your problem....

...

But do you have a Nintendo Wii? :D

Odd question, but I had the same problem for awhile and after I disconnected the Wii from the internet, I had smooth internet with no disconnections and such.
Zepth

Man created swords, and in turn man gets killed by swords. Why do we strive for death?

Worth a try :) By any chance are you using one of the vonage supplied routers Zepth?
