Installer won't connect

Post by nstotler »

I'm getting the message "Error impossible to load version infos. Please make sure your internet connection is operating correctly" while trying to install Ryzom on a friends computer.....
Internet connection is working fine, and no firewall is active. I would normally just peek into Klients, but i can't get in there either :p

I would be grateful for any help ;)

Hi there,
if your friends computer is working off a router you might want to ensure that the following ports are open.
UDP 47851 to 47860
TCP 80
TCP 40916
TCP 43434

TCP 48851 to 48860
also check that windows firewall is not blocking them and any antivirus software has been configured to allow ryzom access to the net.

^^ I'm working through a wireless router. How do i check to make sure that those ports are open, and if they are not, how do I open them?

You will need to check with the manufacturers instruction but generally you access the router control pannel through a http address, mine for example is typed into a browser window as http://10.0.0.2
after which a username and password is called for, these will be included with the instructions or usualy can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturers website.

Once there, though, how do I open those ports? Btw, I am working with a netgear router, if that makes a difference...
